Enclave LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

I bought the car in 2015 with 53,000. In March of 2016 the A/C went out, I took to dealership since I purchased an extended warranty. They told me there's a little flap in there that gets stuck, and they fixed the problem. Took it back for same problem, same dealership in 2018 for same problem, and was told it was $2500 to fix. I don't have that money - I thought I was still under warranty, but that expired 1 week prior...

In 2020, took to repair mechanic, who was unable to fix it, but DID learn that this is a well known problem with this car. GM had actually bought cars back because of this problem. Now what?

Enclave CXL

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,526 miles

So I pay $221.39 to have the system re-charged and a dye put in to find the leak. No luck in finding the leak and I end up doing this again the following year and still they can't find the leak. I guess I just have to keep paying over $200/year to recharge the system every year.

Surely, GM must be aware of this being a problem on other vehicles.

Enclave CLX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 24,273 miles

My 2010 Buick Enclave have what is being described by mechanics as a design defect in the high pressure hose valve for the air-conditioner. I first complaint about it to Buick back in August of 2014 when my Air Conditioner failed to work at the time my vehicle had 24,273 miles. After complaining to the deal how wanted $260 or so to check the problem I called the Buick customer Service they were helpful in waiving the diagnostic fee for what was common knowledge that "high pressure hose leaks at compressor" yet at the time they never acknowledge it. In good faith, and because I was a "value customer" I was given and appointment to have the dealer look at the problem with out charge. I must give Buick credit for this as it is good customer service. The dealer wanted $585.13 to repair the "designed defect" of the hose after the test. Yet, it was common knowledge what caused the problem is based on designed defect as I was told.

Needless to mention that the "Air Conditioner" leaked inside the car cabin from another common problem with the air conditioner. It is all over the Internet dating back to a few years and several models. Okay Buick fix the problem without charge but it leak after the repairs this year. Therefore, it is of my option that the problem is a defect on the designed and when my Air Conditioner is on in long trips it has leaked. What they did was just replace the part with another similar effect of part that would eventually really. My May say "they just repainted the rush but did not fix the cause of the problem".

I paid to fix the high pressure hose from some $450 and since my Air Conditioner is on the leak has "awoken" or the rush reappeared as one may say. Buick should recall these problem and find a cure for the defect. I was just recently asked "what car I would recommend since the stylish look of a Buick is "appealing" I could not in good conscious recommend a Buick more so when I only have 29,000 miles on the car and it has a reoccurring problem. I am considering dump in this car. I must admit it has a "good quiet" ride but I can not deal with the problems and or "covering up of what is a hot topic online Buick Air Conditioner failures. My last car a highlander had 90,000 miles before I sold it; it did not give me any problem with the exception of normal wear on a 90,000 mile vehicle. I would like Buick to repay me cause for these repairs on the grounds that it is a defect that should be address. To secure long term customer they should extend the warrantee on the Air Conditioner on all their cars who wants to purchase a problem car?
