Enclave CLX 231 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Took the car in for 60K mile service. Tech inspected and found that the steering rack was leaking fluid. Recommend replacing the rack. Expensive fix, but necessary. GM should be covering this as it is a common problem with Enclaves of this vintage. They even redesigned the replacement rack to correct flaws in the seals of the original assembly.

I am retired can't afforded too fix this, it will cost 1300.00. I can have steering pump fixed due to recall. I don't feel like I should have to fix this u have a lot of complaints on this problem. And should of been a recall from the first. This car has had so many recalls I wish I hadn't bought it. I can't afford to fix it and can't afford to buy another.

66K on a 2010 Buick Enclave and needs full replacement of rack and pinion. I've driven Toyotas and Hondas to 200k miles and never had to replace this. Dealer says it is not "uncommon" which to me means that this happens quite a bit. Front struts also already leaking and had to be replaced for another $1200. A well make vehicle should not need this kind of major repairs at such low mileage. Guess the biggest problem is that "well made" does not apply to our 2010 Buick Enclave.

Enclave XL 3.2L V6

The dealer told me that they would fix the rack and pinion for 1500.00 , but that the struts might also need to be replaced . So the total would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 2500.00 for both. I couldn't afford that so I went to a certified alignment dealer that I had done business in the past. Turns out that I had to replace both struts also. The grand total was around 1800.00 I have never had to replace this much hardware on a vehicle in the last 30 years.
