Avalanche C15 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

We purchased a 2002 when they first came out , worked perfect never had any issue with that model at all.

We decided to upgrade now look what happened - transmission is gone, it clearly has to be a defected hardware issue. a recall should be made. This truck is to expensive to have a major issue like this.

Avalanche LS 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 155,000 miles

Multiple problems with the transmission. complained about shifting problems since the day it was driven off the lot. Chevy seemed to ignore these complaints until it would only drive at 20 miles hr. ( made it to 82,000 miles) after chevy claimed they fixed it I brought the vehicle back several times with same shifting issues.Especially from reverse to drive (a delay then a big bang. and loss of acceleration power) off course they never acknowledged the problem and their hearing doesn't work. Also noticed that some of my complaints do not seem to be noted in the service reports. as of this week (made it to 155,000 miles) and needed to replace with a new transmission again.. left the dealer and drove 50 miles and all the engine trans lights are back on...

Update from Jun 24, 2014: Turned out the Trans is shot again. and.................the rear end went. I LEFT THE DAMN TRUCK THERE!!!!

Avalanche LTZ

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

Had taken Avalanche to Chevy 6 time complaining slow or delayed shifting out of first gear, felt the thud and drag accelerating sound. Chevy garage manager even heard 6 times, each time kept looking at Chevy Bulletins on issue trying different misor repairs or replacement until Finally The transmission just stopped working completely nearing the end of a long trip lost acceleration in changing lanes, vehicle would not go over 45... I babied as much as I could trying to get closer to home late on a Sunday night...... Last 5 miles stretch it finally just stopped, has to be towed the rest of the way into Chevy and said I TOLD YOU SO........ Chevy replaced the entire transmission due to inferior steel and metal working of gears, and they knew it all along.............. They gave me a rental on them for the week till fixed. Chevy is not happy unless they are in control Lets not do something about until it is a total inconvenience to the customer is driven to Ford...
