Took my 2010 Avalanche to the Chevy dealer just before drivetrain warranty runs out back in April 2015. I told them that there was a rapping noise when first starting, especially after sitting overnight, and most owners of these vehicles called it piston slap and defective lifters and badly designed oil pumps in the infamous 5.3L V8 engines. They kept it for three days and claimed they couldn't duplicate noise. That there was nothing wrong. There was also a problem with low oil pressure and the service tech said it was within specs and could go as low as seven psi, that's just bullshit I said and I felt that that was the cause of the noises in the engine. I also complained about a vibration in the transmission at 30 mph or 1100rpm and they could not reproduce the vibration. It does it every day that I drive it.
For a 2010 Avalanche that cost over 55,000 dollars new and to have these problems at 73,000 miles is just not acceptable. I see many Chevy Avalanche owners have the same issues and GM is denying any responsibility and refuses to issue recalls to repair these problems. It's just not right . After all, when GM got in trouble ,it was the people of this country who ultimately helped to bail them out and now are reaping mega profits. They need to step up now or be forced by a judge in class action lawsuits to make all the repairs. Thanks for letting me vent my issues. AVMAN2010
