The Aveo was so great until recently. I was in a car accident and it survived; but one day just minding my own business driving to a going away party, my car suddenly died. I drive long distance to work (approx 45 miles each way) and my car has never given me any trouble or showed signs of damage. My car felt like it was hit by a major gust of wind and everything just stopped. I had the starter replaced thinking that was it, but nope. Then the timing belt, nope still didn't work, finally after mass research on the internet I found out that the timing belt can cause the valve stems to bend (NOT GOOD AT ALL). All 16 of the stems were bent and it is going to cost AT LEAST $1000.00 to fix. Normally this damage has happened on vehicles with less mileage, but because I drive lond distance the wear and tare was more gradual and my warranty just ran out ( I bought the extended warranty too) Chevy wont fix it and now I'm stuck borrowing cars until I can save the money to get it fixed (THIS SUCKS).
