The transmission started acting up almost 6 months ago and it would not shift right. i would have to accelerate up to 35 mph for the transmission to slam into the next gear. once it was in 2nd (or 3rd im not sure) i could not drive past 40 mph due to the rps going up to 3500. i drove the vehicle like that for almost 6 months. at the end of january i lost the upper gears and could not get it out of 1st gear. i had the transmission rebuilt and im still dealing with the problems even after it was rebuilt. one month and 500 miles later the transmission was right back to the way it was and it is back in the shop for repairs. oh also the 1996 k1500 5.0L has a pcm problem that also is related to the transmission. there is a pcm fix available from the dealer to fix this.
