There was no problem at the end of last winter, but now I don't have any heat at all in the car. The dash will have to be taken off to repair whatever broke on the heater, and we're looking at a thousand dollars or more in costs.

My AC suddenly went out in the middle of the Mojave Desert in over 90 degree heat. I was told it might be the door blend actuator which about $35. However, when we pulled the actuator off the broken post came with it. This created a whole new situation because in order to replace the post the whole dash needs to be removed increasing the labor hours tremendously. It cost over $1200 to repair and we still don't know what could have cause it to break off in the first place.
