I took the car in about two (2) weeks before the 6 year, 100,000 mile corrosion warranty was going to expire. I noticed door seam rust on the passenger side. I drove it to the body shop, there the body shop manager talked with me for a while, agreed with my issue, but told me to go through the service line - he couldn't help me. Weird.

I drove back around and into the service line. The Adviser looked at it, acted like he knew nothing about it, and called his manager. The Manager said he needed a body man to look at it. I explained that I was just there, and he stated that he couldn't help me. The same guy reluctantly walks up, inspects all four doors and writes an estimate. He stated that all four doors needed to be repaired.

The Service Manager stated that the corrosion was not covered. I stated that my previous two vehicles were covered for the same repair. He stated that the factory is cracking down on warranty claims, and there needs to be a hole in order to cover it. I then explained to him that the door is made of three (3) layers of sheet metal - one internal, another outer sheet which is folded over the inner, creating three (3) layers of sheet metal at the base. The folded over layer was rusted away, leaving a hole on that layer, plus corrosion was also evident on the inner panel. The Manager should be explaining this to me!

I waited about a week, and was called by the Adviser, who told me that GM was willing to give me $800 towards the repair. I asked, "What about you (the dealership)?" The Adviser acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. I spoke to a Manager, who played the same 'dumb act'.

This was preceded by a $2,600 transmission issue (known bad syncros), and followed by a MAF sensor assembly issue (TSB's on this issue). No help was offered on either repair.
