I bought the Vette with the problem. It ran close to the boiling point for as long as I've had it. I thought it was due to the highly modified engine, with its roller cam, oversize valves, and 11.5 to 1 compression ratio. Then the radiator blew last month and I replaced the radiator with a stock one. The temperature is now in the 195 degree normal range and my gas mileage improved.
