Unintended acceleration as I was approaching a traffic circle I started to apply the brakes, the engine started to accelerate. I applied the brakes as hard as I could and the engine continued to accelerate. I turned the off the car and it stopped but at the same time I hit the bumper of the vehicle in front of me. This is the third time this has occurred. For this last incident I checked and my foot was only on the brake peddle.
When slowing down to a stop ( at approximately 15 mph) the vehicle suddenly accelerated resulting in hitting the vehicle in front of mine. As my car was accelerating I pressed on the brake as hard as possible but it only slightly slowed the vehicle. I put the car in neutral as it was about 3 feet from the vehicle in front of me and I hit that vehicle at a much slower speed. This is the second time this happened. It occurred previously on approximately June 2008.
