After researching I got on the Internet and this is a wide spread problem.steering lock actuator causes a hostage issue.. It cost 1000.00 to fix this issue.. I bought this car from a Chevrolet dealer in ft worth 4 days ago and they never checked it out before they sold it to me.. This problem should be a recall in my opinion..

have a 2005 corvette . bought the car brand new, and on 3 occasions the cars push button start wouldnt work. on one occasion the pad you touch to get in the car that reads the remote in your pocket didn't work, and on at least 30 occasions since i have owned the car my battery has been dead over and over and over and over again. i had to have the car towed from a gas station because the car wouldn't start. (the gas station was by an airport) i was told by the driver when he arrived hey does your car have a push button start and i said yes. he said he is towing 20 - 30 GM vehicles with push button starts from the same area EVERY WEEK. towed my car 5 miles away stopped the tow truck and we got out and lo and behold the car started. mny car only has 6000 miles on it. i love how gm is begging me to come to their showroom to buy a car . they wont get any business from me. i called the dealer to get the car towed and guess what he said? this is a gm dealer -- desert Buick gmc in Las Vegas ... the guy that answered the phone said after i explained the problem "do you have a warranty on your car or is it still under the factory warranty? i responded no it does not and he said oh, that sounds like an expensive repair. this is an AUTONATION dealership . you can rest assured they will get NONE of my business ever!
