Overwhelming fuel odor after shutting car off and housing it in the garage or outside. Especially noticeable in summer when ethanol is added to fuel - heavy smell of nail polish remover inside and outside the car. Fuel vapor leak from gas tank requires $2400 repair. Other owners have complained of similar problem on the Corvette forum. Chevrolet needs to recall and replace this component on all C6 Corvettes.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that fuel fumes emitted in and around the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the fuel pump was leaking. As a result, the fuel pump, sensor kit, and fuel pipe needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and current mileage was 87,911. Updated 02/11/2014 updated 3/14/2014
