The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving 45 mph, the ABS warning and stabilitrak warning indicators illuminated. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and noticed that the brake pedal vibrated when the pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (rosner Chevrolet, 800 S harbor city blvd, melbourne, fl 32901) where it was diagnosed that the front driver side tire sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated that the front driver's door failed to open from the inside. The door was opened by pulling the window down. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted at 866-790-5600 and stated that the contact needed to take the vehicle to the dealer. Case number: 8-3496059432 was provided. My vehicle was stationary. My vehicle was parked in the carport for a few weeks. When I can back to the vehicle it was covered in mold. It was all over the dashboard and the seats. I looked online and a lot of consumers were experiencing the same problem. There is a water leak. The spare tire well has a lot of water in it. GM has a document id number 2198426 describing how to fix this water leak. I feel since a lot of consumers are going through this; then it should be recalled.

Noticed the paint is peeling off the back lift gate. It has continued to peel since. There is no rust. Took it to a dealer and he said he thought there was a recall due to the paint not adhering correctly. It's the only area on the vehicle and it looks terrible. Please let me know if this is covered by GM. Thank you

I was driving my 2007 Equinox yesterday when I had to hit the breaks a surge of water came from under my backseat soaking all the carpet. After that I looked in the trunk. The trunk was dry so I lifted it up to check by the spare tire and found a ton of water. My car has had a funky smell for awhile now. I am not sure how long the water has been collecting. But this is a major health issue. I have two small children and I have no idea how long we have been breathing in this mold and mildew. GM please help with this issue. I have read many other cases here on the internet. This is a manufactures defect!

On 05/05/13 my 7 year old daughter noticed that the backseat floorboards where wet. It's been raining a lot so I shrugged it off without checking. On 05/06/13 I noticed puddling in the front drivers side floorboard. Remembering what my 7 year old had said I looked back to find standing water in the back seat floor boards!!! I researched online and checked the spare tire well as recommended. It had standing water! I called the dealerships service center and they advised me that I would have to pay $265 for a "water leak diagnostic". then I would have to pay for whatever the issue is because I am not under warranty. I have 2 children and am worried about mold. Not sure how I am going to fix this without bankrupting. I sucked it all out with a wet vac and will continue to work on the carpet every day. Someone help!!

During the winter I began to hear water moving around somewhere in my vehicle as I drove around but had no idea where this sound was coming from. I was vacuuming my vehicle one day and the carpet was completely soaked. I began to research online and found that many Equinox owners had leak problems and they had found water had accumulated in the spare tire well. I checked the spare tire well and sure enough approximately 9 inches of water had accumulated in there. I cleared out that water but water is still somewhere in the front end of the vehicle because I can hear it as I drive, water also leaks through the overhead lighting. I contacted GM and they advised I bring the vehicle to one of their repair shops for assessment, the shop stated the problem is the sunroof module at a cost $2600. After this assessment GM notified me that they are unable to offer repair assistance because the vehicle is out of warranty, something they knew prior to requesting I bring the vehicle to the shop and having me spend approximately $200. This is clearly a manufacturing issue which many Equinox customers have and GM is not accepting responsibility for. I find it hard to believe that they are able to get away with this. I am now stuck with a vehicle that holds water in the body, a carpet which has gotten wet and will more than likely continue to get wet so it has a constant odor and a vehicle which leaks through the overhead lighting, seems very unsafe. The water trapped in the body of the vehicle will more than likely cause the vehicle to rust and perhaps even cause more serious problems. This is not fair to the consumer, GM should be held accountable for the defect in this and other Equinox vehicles, to issue a recall for the repair of this defect is the least GM can do for their customers.

Spare tire well under the floor in the rear of my Equinox fills with water. This morning it had more than two inches. I did not realize this was happening and I do not know where it is coming from. My neighbor has the same problem as does his coworker (both are fleet vehicles). He just told me about it and I looked in mine. He has gotten a new company car as he was getting sick from mold from the leak.

I had to have my trunk compartment replaced and some areas around the frame of the body re-sealed due to excess water accumulating in the spare time area. I was first told by the dealer repair shop that it was a defect but when I requested reimbursement GM denied that the dealer ever told them this. I believe GM is denying that there are some structural problems with this year and model and my fear is that another year down the road there will be other issues with the frame/body of this model vehicle. Also, it bothers me that we are encouraged to "buy american" but the american car makers do not want to stand up to their promise of good makemanship. I am disappointed and especially with the dishonesty at the corporate level of this corporation.

The stabilitrac comes on it seems every 4-6 months and each time I take to the dealer (twice since purchase) they make adjustments but the light/issue comes back. When the light is on and it rains the traction on the surface is terrible! the vehicle pulls and presents an issue of safety for the driver.

We own a 2007 Equinox, our friend stated that his Equinox had water in the spare tire compartment. We have been getting sick for a while and didn't know why. We looked in our spare tire compartment and there was a foot of water. Now we cannot drive this vehicle for health reasons. GM knew about this problem for there are 3 service bulletins for this problem. They will not help us with a trade assist and we cannot drive it due to the mold. We have condensation in the inside of the vehicle and have to wipe it off with a towel before we can drive it. The vehicle is full of mold! I'm sure this vehicle has been leaking since day one!
