130,000 miles - When driving the car everything is fine, After sitting in the drive through line or traffic, the gauge starts to rise to say it's overheating. Fans kick on but it never overheats. First time, I found I had low coolant. I replaced the thermostat and coolant temp sensor, as well as did a coolant system flush. After burping the system, it seems to have resolved.
However, the gauge itself still gets stuck at Cold or will shoot up over the 1/2 way mark upon starting or go all the way to the top for no reason when sitting still. No fan kicks on, no overheating, no warning lights. I think it's a bad stepper motor. I'm heading to shop Monday to have full diagnostics, check hoses and coolant temp to be sure.
