So on my 2012 Equinox, 119000 miles, the check engine light comes on. I take it into an auto service center and they replace a solenoid. Then it starts chugging and trying to stall something awful. I take it back in and they do a complete oil flush. I get it back and the first day it seems a little better but still not running as well as it did with just the check engine light on. The next day it starts chugging again and trying to stall. I take it back and they say that there was a TSB - some bulletin - that says that these symptoms mean that the timing chain is about to break OR that it can be a fuel pump OR it can be a bad solenoid and only the dealer can fix it. The car is soo bad. I feel like I am in an earthquake at a red light. I am taking it in for a second opinion but am scared of the cost of all of this. I bought the car in 2012 with 70 miles on it, I have taken it in every year for a tune up, changed the oil and had a top off regularly due to the massive oil consumption and at 119,000 it looks like I am going to have to junk this car...
