Turned into driveway to park and suddenly my vehicle sped up really fast then I hit a pole. Destroyed the right headlight, hood, bumper, passenger door won't open all the way
My car is getting rid of oil very fast and when I hit my breaks my car jerks very bad and I don-??t have the money to take it to a shop right now but I-??ve had some friends have the same problem
The camshaft sensors have been replaced when the code POoo14 made the engine light Activate. I'm worried that the timing chain could possibly cause an accident if it seizes the engine. I have under 73,000 miles on a 2014 Chevy equinox. Please advise Thank you
I was driving and the vehicle suddenly seemed sluggish. A warning came on the dash stating low oil pressure and the car began shaking wildly. I quickly pulled over and a warning to turn the engine off appeared and all the dash lights began to illuminate. I turned off the engine and had the car towed. I had it looked at and was told there was no oil in the car (I have regular oil changes) and that a faulty PVC valve was the culprit. I received no warning that the oil was running low in the car. There were never any oil spots in my driveway indicating a leak, this all happened suddenly as I was driving and now my engine is damaged. I-€™ve had issues with oil consumption in this vehicle before and in my research it appears this is a common issue with this vehicle make and model and Chevy doesn-€™t appear to be interested in rectifying it.
I live in Michigan and my vehicle is a 2014 Chevy Equinox 2.4 liter with 93351 miles on it. Was driving vehicle home when all the dash lights illuminated and vehicle stalled. Towed vehicle to my house, called my mechanic told him what had happened and had him take a look at it. He had found that the rear main oil seal was leaking quite badly. With the recent bad weather we had with temps being quite cold my mechanic did some research and found a service bulletin (14882 special coverage adjustment-plugged pcv orifice in intake manifold) which in turn causes the rear main seal to blow out and start leaking. I reached out to some local dealerships and they claim my vehicle is not covered under that service campaign bulletin according to my VIN although year, make, mode, and engine does. This should very easily be able to become a recall for GM.
On December 23rd, shortly after 530 pm, I remote started the vehicle, 6 min prior, to entering/driving the vehicle. On my way to work, approximately 4 minutes into the drive a woman pulled up next to me. She seemed to be in distress, trying to get my attention. I rolled down the window and she told me -€œyour car is on fire-€ I quickly pulled over to the side of the road and exited the vehicle. The vehicle was dripping firey liquid. I called 911. And 12 minutes later, when the firefighters arrived, half of the vehicle was engulfed in flames. There were no warning signs. No warning lights. No sudden loss of oil or fuel. Police had the vehicle towed to a junkyard where it still sits. Unfortunately I had liability insurance only. So no claim was filed. I do have a police report and videos/pictures of the vehicle burning.
GM Issue #14882 - Special Coverage Adjustment - Plugged PCV Orifice in Intake Manifold. Causes pressure to build up and then oil leaks and sprays inside of engine. Also burns oil at a faster rate. If not repaired, vehicle's engine could freeze up while driving. Some models have been reported to catch on fire. Problem confirmed by independent service center - they suggested to call Chevy dealer. Chevy dealer stated my VIN not covered under this issue since it is VIN-specific based on where it was manufactured. My vehicle was manufactured at Plant #6 in Canada. This issue is more common in areas that experience cold weather. My incident happened in Missouri after a cold 2021-2022 winter season. Called GM North America Customer Assistance Center for Chevy vehicles and they also said my vehicle is not covered for this issue based on the VIN. My vehicle is at the 118,000 mile mark and this special coverage adjustment ends at 120,000 miles. I have no choice but to have the repairs made at my expense because I cannot risk my engine failing on the highway to/from work in a dangerous part of the city. There were no warning lamps. I just noticed a lot of oil on my garage floor and took it to a service center.
While driving all of a sudden my trac control and abs light came on. I stopped and when turned back on it said service stability track and AWD. Lights went off. Then one day I was stopping and my brakes jerked and crunched and the lights came back on and now brakes crunch and jerk.
My link infotainment center glitches goes black, reverse camera stays on while driving forward. Navigation doesn-€™t work. Cant turn radio up or down because screen doesn-€™t respond to touch until it decides to then I-€™ll catch up every button touched. Freezes and then just shuts down and comes back on when it wants. Radio audio cuts off whenever it wants as well.
Engine oil consumption. Vehicle is consuming 4 quarts of oil per week. This results in a loud vehicle, and shaking during a stop. There is no leak in the oil canister, for I have spent $1100 on it recently. The engine is burning the oil at an unreasonable rate.
When I purchased this car this car new I noticed that the steering was very easy to turn. I had a discussion with a management person at the dealership and was not satisfied. I then wrote a letter to your president and I don't remember getting a reply. The problem with the steering is that it turns way too easily and does so at all speeds. I have on several occasions run off the road because of the light steering. I did so again today and was able to get back on the road without hitting anything, but I did have a problem with a bubble in my right rear tire which will take me time and money to have fixed. I have had a number of cars but none have had this type of steering problem. Now I am aware that most Chevrolet/S had this type of steering in 2014 and although it may not be a direct design problem, it certainly makes the car more difficult to drive, especially at high speeds.I wish that the care wouldn't do this, and I know it is a little late to ask you to make the ca as easy to drive as the other 59 vehicles that I have owned.
During heavy rain, windshield wipers flew past straight up, and stopped working without warning. This caused a very dangerous situation because we were driving on an expressway after dark and could not see enough to continue moving. We had to inch along the shoulder for a mile to the nearest exit.
2014 Equinox. Left trail and puddle of oil up to and into my customer's driveway. I had the vehicle towed and per the repair facility and then local Chevy dealer "this is a know problem". the PCV valve stuck due to moisture in the engine which caused the engine rear oil seal to blow out. 112K miles and perfect up to this point. My VIN # per dealership is not covered under warranty (as many online have also complained).
While driving in the rain the wipers stopped working and went into the park position. The wipers will not operate. The dealership service department claims the wiper transmission came apart.
Exhaust manifold cracked in 2 places causing life threatening co conditions inside idling car. Seems to be a common complaint on the vehicles with 2.4 liter ecotec engine. Roughly a $1000 expense to fix with a new manifold. Not warrantied or recalled item. It should be a recall issue.
Began hearing noise from the sunroof two months ago. Shortly after that, we took the car through a car wash and it leaked all around the frame and by the seatbelts. Upon checking, there was a space where it was not closing completely. We followed the directions to calibrate the sunroof and it still doesn't work. You can close it, but after you drive for a short period of time it will lift somewhat on its own. The sunroof has not been used during the 4 years that we have had the car.12
