At 94,000 miles my engine is bad. There is metal in the engine, and they cannot tell from where. I have regular oil changes and take care of my vehicle. Just had the tpms sensors changed in the tires. I'll never buy another Chevy. Ever.
Worst POS car I have ever owned, I just replaced the back oil seal cost $1440.00 and on the start up at dealership it was really loud and I was told it was the timing chain - an estimated cost over $1500.00 to fix another problem that GM knows is a failure on their crap cars. Many family members worked at GM and I will never buy GM again. Fix your PROBLEMS.
Well, it put me in a bad state. I bought the SUV because it was comfortable and lots of room it was used with only 136000 km on it at 144000 motor goesI own a 1998 Chevy with 317000 km no issues I’m so disappointed if I had of know I would have got the Honda instead. Now I have a loan for suv and have to dish out money to pay for a new motor.
I'm hearing nothing but bad things about the engine and how the issues were never fixed from the 2013 to 2017 models. I also own a 1991F150 so I’m not hard and I look after my vehicles.I figured this vehicle would last me for years not under 3 months. Not sure if there’s anything I can do but be very disappointed.
Always been a GM man from S15s to full size Chevys but this will make me think very hard before I buy another
Update from Sep 21, 2021: Ended up costing 5500 dollars lucky I had extended warranty that covered 2500 of that.The company I bought suv from didn’t help and at the time there was Covid 19 restriction which they used as an excuse.The service manager said “timing chain is like a light bulb don’t know when they’re gonna go’ so me being an electrician never found that amusing I left that at that.I learnt a valuable lesson thanks
With just under 100,000 miles on the vehicle, we noticed a noise that sounded like the oil tank was empty... it was... It was only 1500 miles since the previous oil change. We added oil and had a mechanic look at it. He recommended that we continue to monitor the oil consumption and add oil as needed. We consistently had to add 2-3 quarts in between oil changes.
Last week, the check engine light came on and the car started making a loud rattling noise. We had it towed to our mechanic who told us the actuators needed to be replaced per the code. After changing the actuators, he took it for a drive and hear a loud rattling coming from the engine. The timing chain is bad and needs to be replaced before it causes more issues with the engine. This is clearly a larger issue that GM needs to address immediately.
