The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the high-pressure fuel pump and the feed pipe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,000.

The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH and exiting a ramp to merge onto the highway in oncoming traffic, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed high-pressure fuel pump module. The vehicle was not repaired.
