Overall this van hasn't been all that bad, the $1,100 bill at 35,000 miles was tough to swallow. Other problems were rusty rims, rusty front bumper, rust in the side doors.
Also and this has been a problem on every GM van I've ever owned. The hinges on the doors rust up where it becomes impossible to open the doors and it is very difficult to lubricate them. GM knows this and yet continues to do nothing about it. I've been a GM guy pretty much all of my life and still am but I have to tell you they do some pretty stupid things, or just plain don't care about their customers.
When the A.C. went the dealer didn't say sorry that the A.C. went on you after only 35,000 miles, or offer to replace it for any thing but full price. I would expect that an A.C. compressor would go at least 100,000 miles in a van built by a company like GM. I've bought a lot of brand new cars and trucks in my life, mostly GM. But today I would never buy another new car now I want to see a history on that particular vehicle. Then I will just look for one with super low miles on it and I don't care who the manufacturer is because really and truly, all of them are building mostly junk.
I cannot believe some of these nightmare stories plastered all over the internet. All these people paying 50K for cars that are lemons on day one, it's pathetic and down right criminal. IMO . TheReaper!
