I have a knocking noise when driving at speeds over 40 mph. I've had several things fixed like the bearings, struts, and shocks; all of which I was told was the cause of the knocking noise. Then a family friend who is a mechanic said it was the rotors. Not sure what he did to them, clean? cut? something. It seemed to help for a little bit but of course it's back...

The brakes on this vehicle wear faster than any other vehicle I've experienced. Our mechanic has tried many different types and combinations to try to find one that at least wears normally with no luck. Not sure if it is connected to the repeated issue of brake lights coming on while driving or the fact that the cruise doesn't engage half the time.

This is the second replacement. I used a the most expensive ceramic front pads the parts store had and cleaned the rotors and surrounding are very well with brake cleaner. Used a torque wrench on the lug nuts and drove very carefully by lifting off the gas farther away from stopping points and applied the brakes as minimally as possible for a couple of weeks. So far so good.

I live in the country and do not use my brakes as often as most drivers. Something should be done about this problem!!! The dealer told me its the material the factory buys.

What a crock of B.S. I'm am retired and can't afford this kind of stuff!!
