The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and the engine warning illuminated. The vehicle restarted after several attempts; however, the failure recurred on two other occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 203,954.
