Started, made a stop, driving awhile, re- started, choking up, turned off, restarted & was better. I went a little distance maybe 30ft, no warning light, just died. Wouldn't restart, had towed in. Everyone at the place has been too busy to touch it. Just curious as to what might be the problem. At the last shop he was able to start it to get it in the shop, and even start it up when I went to check on it. Today I called to check on it and was told it wouldn't start, might be the computer, they're supposed to put it on the diagnosis machine so as to find out what's wrong. Just getting anxious, concerned about been taken advantage of.

A year ago my car just shut down while driving with no lights on. Had it towed to dealer. Replaced fuel pump and relay. Driving again weeks later same thing, car just shuts off no lights on. Get towed again to dealer. Replaced manifold pressure sensor, they say it’s not acting up now. Again drive the car. Days later again, car shuts off while driving! They find a gray wire for map broken and fix it. Ok, I get the car back and within a week the car shuts down, while I’m driving, 3 times and I get it towed. The dealership says my fuel pump fuse is missing, they replace, but how was I still driving? So point is my car shuts off at least 6 times within a 8 month period. I’ve had it towed to same dealership every time. They have kept my car sometimes for 2 weeks cause they are baffled, and can’t figure out problem. Next time it brakes down was this yr 2018 in Jan. I get it towed to a ma and pa place where they find my timing chain broke and bolt to engine loose to where, if it got off the engine would of been gone. SO, I get that replaced along with the manifold sensor AGAIN. Thought the car was fixed but again it shuts down...So the only way it runs is with manifold sensor unplugged. So I guess I want the know if so many people have same problem with this car why isn’t there a recall? I have grandchildren that I drive in my car and I am thankful nobody was in it when it just shuts off. Can someone please help with suggestions as I just paid car off and am still scared to drive cause of this.

This is a very dangerous issue, I have had this car stop on me in the middle of traffic in Chicago on the expressway. It has caused me to put a new starter on the car. I really feel that Chevy need to look into this issue because it's not just happening on the Malibu's, it's also happening on other models and someone could die from this.

I purchased the Chevrolet Malibu in September of 2013. The car drove just fine until I decided to take the car out of town to Dallas. On my drive back to Memphis, the car all of sudden started with the engine power reduced alert and slowed down to just 20 mph. This was very irritating. I then Googled and found out to turn it off for a few seconds and turn back on. ok it drove just fine. Now here recently the car has started to give the same error message and go to service traction, fix ESC and the engine light comes on .. it sputters and the engine revs up.When I Google now its more people complaining about the same message, but on numerous of other models of Chevys. This should be a known issue and a recall. They should be willing to fix whatever issues the vehicles are having. This is a pain in the ass ..

Just purchased a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ, on Thursday 2/25/2015 and also today 3/2/2015 the Engine Reduced Power came on the car started to jump, sputter and then died in the middle of an intersection, as well as now on the highway going 70 miles an hour. As well as now I get the ESC light and ABS. After reading numerous complaints about the same problem all over the internet called Chevrolet and they state that I have to have it taken to a Chevrolet dealer for diagnostics and repair. At none the less, my expense, with an known issue and hundreds of same issue. This should not be my expense. What is Chevy waiting for multiple deaths to do a recall.

Did I mention that the 2011 have a great feature that you will really enjoy, all the lights go out and so does your car, It has no consideration on where you are. Car dies and you can't start it. Chevrolet never can reduplicate problem so they tell you everything's normal and they reset computer and send you on your way. Until, Oh crap now your on the freeway doing 70 mph and oh goody your car dies and now your leaking fluid. Love that Malibu! Go out and get one today, I have a black that I will sell You!!!!
