In 2003 the a/c went out. I went to several gm and chevy dealers none would even consider looking at my truck let alone fixing it, several months back I took my truck to Beck and Masten here in Cypress Texas to try one more time to get gm to fix my truck and I was told the truck was to old for Beck to even consider working on such and old issue even though I was willing to pay to have the a/c fixed. Beck service department refused to work on this truck, so I take my truck to an independent mechanic who immediately tells me he won't touch it because an after market radio had been installed and that gm no longer made the part that was bad on my truck which would be the a/c control module, so I m stuck with virtually a brand new a/c system in my truck and can't find a control unit to solve all my problems and get my truck back on the road with a/c, Oh by the way Beck and even the independent had no problem changing me for shop fees. what beck and all these independent mechanics don't understand is I m very much aware that if that shop has a GM Tech II the problem can be solved in short order, the problem is getting someone to do the foot work or should I say the work around, it is a way to get this a/c up and running again but no one want's to put in the time to get the job done. before they came out with these new cars and trucks which require special tools in order to diagnose and fix today's cars and trucks I use to fix cars and trucks for people and still would if I could afford to purchase the expensive equipment needed to work on today's cars.if anyone out there in the Houston Texas area and you have a Tech II and want to help a fellow man out please feel free to get in touch with me.
