OK, you asked ! ! !

As I am driving through town at low speeds... say 0 to 40 mph, and I come up to a stop light or sign, I slow down and come to a complete stop and a few seconds later come a BOOM ! ! ! noise from the transmission.

The I set there for a while and then the light turns green, and I proceed onward, as I listen to the transmission I here another BOOM noise in the transmission area again... HUMMMmmmmm???????

I don't know what's going on here? The is only a 1500 series truck with no loads and it banging already???

WHATSUP with that CHEVY???

POS truck....I'm still paying for the bastard. Hubby's 1994 Silverado has 347k on it and still going strong. I guess they just don't make em like they used to. The transmission shop said it could go out anytime with no further warning. I haul horses up into the mountains to ride, but not anymore I guess. Good thing I have US Rider truck and trailer tow insurance. Shame on you GM for selling this crappy truck.

Same problem with my truck. When I stop at a light, it takes several seconds (5-20) but the truck jerks/shifts out of gear. As if its a delayed shift. I'm going to take it into the dealer. Wish me luck!

This is about the 7th time This Happened and I told them when I had my 25000 mile check up and they JUST smiled, Its hard, I mean VERY Hard Like I was rear Ended, One time I even came out of my truck because I thought I was rear ended. I have 2 Chevy's as of now but I don't think I will ever again but America but then again this is no longer America That I know. Besides most Forgein Autos has more American Parts then the so Call American Vehicles, ie.. GM< Ford < Mopar. I've had Plenty of all of them. And only 3 was worth a Damn and I never brought a Vehicle that wasn't American other then a Yugo for 2995.00 in 1989 which I enjoyed more then these cars except no A"C. What a Shame. I been Driving for 38 yrs.

Silverado LTS 4.8L

I been experiencing a jerk at a dead stop as if someone hit me from behind. You can at times hear a clunk. The other problem is the hard shifting when taking off and during city driving, especially when the truck is cold. Dealer says they can't find anything wrong with it and state "It's a truck! They run rough"

Same as the other four guys. While stopped at a red light some where between 5 and 20- seconds it will "clunk". I have been to the dealer 3 times and they say they can't find anything. I am going to try a different dealer. Does any one have any new info on this?

Silverado LT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

We bought this pickup in June 2007. This particular problem started a few months after we had the pickup, but it is a seemingly more serious problem than our other problem, which is in the a/c. Just like the other folks, when it first started doing this, I thought someone had bumped into the back of my p.u. at a red light, but no one had. It does this almost all the time now. You put on the brakes, stop and then it seems to shift down and clunk it jerks the whole p.u. Dealer cannot figure out what the problem is, so they can't fix it. Have taken it in a couple of times, but they say if it will not replicate the problem, there is no way to fix it. I don't really fault the dealership, I fault Chevrolet. But if the dealers would hound Chev., they would certainly figure out what is doing this! Also, it is so much trouble to lodge a complaint, and takes some time, so no telling how many people out there are having this problem. In my mind, I think probably all of them are having it, just too busy to do anything about it until something completely quits working.

Silverado LTZ 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

Same as the others, when you are at a stop light it feels as if the transmission is jerking into gear after you have stopped. It is inconsistent when it does it but you can defineatly notice. We took it in almost a year ago and of course the dealerships suck so they said we can't duplicate it. I also think it may be they new suspension, it doesn't do it when it has a load. I was wondering if it is the rear leaf springs loading up under torque and then they unload when you come to a stop. I don't know but it hasn't gotten any worse and it is just an annoyance now. It pulls my horse trailer with three big horses in it just fine.

Silverado LT1 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado LT1, and sometimes when I'm sitting at a stoplight, it will feel like someone bumped me, and you will hear a loud "Clunk" underneath. On some days it happens at every light, and sometimes it never happens, but it's happened too frequently not to say anything...

In a possible similar note, a lot of times, while I'm sitting at a stoplight, and I let off the brake to start going again, that same "Clunk" noise happens, and the truck jolts a little, but it feels more like the brakes letting off jerky, but it could be the Transmission I guess...

Also, the transmission seems to be quite jerky in city driving, like you gently accelerate from a stop-light and when you come up to the next one, it's still accelerating, and it's tough to stop easily.

Silverado LTZ 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission

While sitting at a stop light with my foot on the brake the truck will jerk as if someone just bumped me in the rear end. I think it is the transmission downshifting but the dealership says they cannot duplicate the problem.
