A little over a month old, Bought in early March of 2008. Chevrolet 3500 Duramax Turbo Diesel 6.6L Silverado. 6" Custom lift with rockstar rimes.
Three weeks into owning, blue smoke began to come out of tailpipe faintly only once. Two weeks later, it happened again and often did every other day. As of 4-18-2008) it got so bad that I couldn't see the color of the cars around me at a stop light. Lost almost all power and it backfired twice when I "tested" the truck's engine/power when entering on the freeway. Chevrolet was "booked up" when we wanted to schedule to take it in. Was able to get booked and they couldn't find anything wrong with the truck as of (4-21-2008). I was told to "monitor".
Today as of (4-23-2008) happened and I went straight (in my nightwear after dropping husband off at work) to the shop with out notice for they can "see" the smoke to know I am not making this up. I am scheduled to take the truck in on 4-24-2008 for more testing. This time, their was a "hot" smell of "burning breaks" and "oil". Breaks is in perfect operating order. Did not loose power this time. Engine light is not on. Tempt of engine is normal. All gages are in working normal order. Engine while driving with smoke present is abnormal to the extent of not typical "diesel" vibration and turbo did not "stir up" normally while on the gas peddle. etc. Did not want to "go up to speed" at the normal rate.
Side note: Windshield wipers likes to come on with the fluid once in awhile (1 time a week or 2 times a week) for a duration of 4 to 6 repeats back to back. No setting is present and no physical touching has caused it to happen. A part was ordered "chip" and will see if that will solve the issue.
