CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Silverado has no defect trends, which is a very good sign now that it's more than a few years old.
A couple model years back, the 2007 Silverado has an oil consumption defect at low mileage (~50k miles) — so far there's only a very few reports of the same problem with the 2009 Silverado.
The 2009 Silverado received poor side impact ratings on models not equipped with the optional side air bags.
I bought a 2009 Chevy 3500 Silverado LTZ brand new with only 9 miles on it. I have had it for 4 years and now only have 50,000 miles on it. I paid 55,000 for the truck and the paint is cracking all over the body. The hood and roof are really bad and now the sides are cracking . :( I have taken very good care of this truck, it's still brand new.

I think that it should be repaired by the dealership here in town because that is where I purchased it. It shouldn't have peeled off this early.
