Purchased this 2012 LTZ Silverado and within months the paint started peeling off on the hood, fenders and roof. The paint seems to bubble as if was not adhering properly. This has made someone of an awful looking truck for something that cost us a lot of money. Have always purchased GM (CHevy) products but after this issue and speaking with a customer service department that does not want to help us with our issue we are looking at trading in and moving to a different truck manufacturer. The trim is also falling off the sides of the truck. We take such excellent care of our vehicles and this one just seems to be a lemon.
Did some research and we are not the only ones with this issue. It seems that the primer that was used in the Mexico plant has been an issue for several vehicles. I truly hope that GM does something quick to rectify this issue for all that are affected.
Maybe a class action lawsuit is in order here.
