Started vehicle up from a parking lot, proceeded to intersection. Went to hit my brakes for the red light. And warning lights started flashing. I had about 10% of brakes at this point. Could not stop for red light, but was able to steer to the right, parallel with the oncoming traffic to avoid a serious collision. The truck is setting at the dealership now. And I'm being told that parts are back ordered.
Truck is 8 months old, less than 10K miles on it. Steering locked up backing out of my driveway. ESC warnings, and various other electrical warnings. Dealer stated it needs steering column or gear as they saw the codes and do not want me to drive the vehicle. Vehicle has been at dealer since November 1st (45 days and counting) GM has stated part should ship the week of December 30th... even if it goes well this will be 60 days in a row without my truck! definitely should be compensated for this. Roadside assistance was 2 hours late, dealership gave away loaner, then when I got a loaner dealership asked me to bring it back within a week because they sold the loaner... now driving a small SUV instead of my big truck. Hmmmm.
When I back up the back up camera flashes out, is blurry, and it seems as if when I tap the brakes it makes the screen flash out causing a serious hazard. I've contacted GM they are at this point I assume ignoring me and refuse to help with this issue on my brand new truck. Now today my break monitor system flashes up red saying service system not my breaks or pads but something with the break system is apparently wrong now.
Brand new truck an the back up camera flashes flickers, is terrible to see, backing up.GM says its normal. Not normal especially when the catalog says camera is hd 7", never seen a back up camera be able to flash and flicker when the lights are actuated brakes are on. Means there is a draw in the system. There is tinterference with it and the electrical system. I also have the traction control relay clicking everytime the traction control comes on. Have had three vehicles and never heard that to be normal. Head lights are so dim the cars behind me brighten the road. These lights dont even light the refelctors on the road. But apparently normal you can put led in, but have to pay for it. Just keep driving and cant see where your going until you get hurt. Also add led and void your warranty.
The rear backup camera is faulty. Randomly will get a blue screen (backup camera being inoperable) that says to "service rear vision system". research online, says there is no current fix for this issue. I only have 600 miles on a brand new truck.

The issue I have with my 2019 Silverado is the rear vision or back up camera. The camera is basically useless at night because the resolution becomes extremely distorted and blurry. The camera will also go completely black while the vehicle is in motion such as backing into my driveway off a busy public road. I believe this is a extremely dangerous safety issue considering children are often riding bikes or playing on the sidewalk I'm backing across the enter my driveway. I have had the truck into the dealership for the problem but they claim the camera is working as it should making this situation extremely frustrating. I know this is not an isolated issue because my father has the exact same truck and we both have the problem also many people on forums have the problem. I really hope GM comes out with a fix for this issue before someone is killed or injured.
The rear view camera is absolutely blinding in low light conditions /at night. Also the screen is glitchy at best. The screen constantly cuts out and the picture distorts when applying the brakes. Compared to cameras and screens on other vehicle of lesser quality and less money this camera is absolutely unacceptable. A $52K truck should have a camera /infotainment screen of better quality than this. This technology has been out long enough to have hd quality as a standard feature. GM should make this right or I'm sure there will be a lot of new Ford customers in the coming years.
The back up camera screen is way too bright at night? so bright you can't see out back window and the passengers side mirror it's like the interior lights are on, there is no brightness adjustment for camera defaults to full bright, you can't even turn it off (probably a stupid rule someone made thinking about safety but it's actually unsafe if you can't see, it's very annoying but most of all unsafe because you can't see, I've been diving for 35 years and this is rediculous my other vehicle 2016 has complete control over the camera and brightness it's not a GM product. GM says this is how it is, I and many other owners agree that this is a major safety issue if you can't see the sides of the vehicle GM really needs to add a brightness control for the camera they used to have it but it's been removed this leads me to believe that some Agency has determined or came up with rules that doesn't allow you to turn off backup camera or change brightness if this is the case they have created a safety hazard it's unreasonable to not have a choice.
360 camera system works, then screen goes blue with "service rear vision system" (xxxx) I have several children on my block and this could cause serious injury this was from the day I bought it redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While the vehicle was in reverse, the back up camera image would glitch and flicker. The image was distorted and difficult to view. The vehicle was taken to tipotex Chevrolet (1600 North express way, hgwy 77, brownsville, tx) where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to a faulty computer; however, a remedy was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 9-5563675162. The failure mileage was 100.
The backup camera blinks and fades out. Much of the time the screen is fuzzy. This occurs while stationary or in motion. During night time I can barely see what's behind me for the screen is dark and blurry.

On June 16th 2019 I drove down to atlanta, ga for a baseball game. Midway I stopped for gas. When I turned back on the truck, I realized that I had lost a and if I get an amount of my braking ability. However, I had no lights on mu dash to indicate a failure to the braking system. I read on a GM forum that other owners experienced the problem, turned off the vehicle for 30 mins, turned back on the vehicle and the brakes worked again. They, however, had lights indicating a brake failure. I followed the forums suggestions and after 30 mins with my truck off, I drove the truck again and had no further issues. I took the vehicle into the service department, but as I expected they could not replicate the issue. I wanted to start a paper trail though incase the issue reoccurred. On July 10th the same braking issue occurred again. This time I was near my dealership in greenville, SC. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they were able to confirm a loss of over 50% of braking but no lights or check engine code (past or present) indicating a brake failure. I am very concerned and believe this truck is unsafe because of the braking issues and lack of confirmation of service lights on the truck dash. It is a death trap. They are not able to confirm a fix either due to not having a service error code to fix and turn off. Vehicle was in motion when issues occurred both times. On both occasion as, serious car accidents almost happened due to lack of braking ability.
My truck has an issue when at low speeds 30mph and under all check warning lights will come on my ESC (electric steering control) will come on when this happens I loose power steering and when that happens the steering wheel returns to center. This has happened three times since buying the vehicle new I had not had the vehicle for a month when all the issue started to happen. When I loose the power steering the power for brakes go out as well I have almost been in an accident because of this it's a very scary situation when it happens. After all the warning lights would come on, power running boards would also cycle up and down on there own, the only light that would stay on was: Service trailer brake system.
With only 500 miles on the truck/engine oil pressure has been dropping drastically while going from drive to idle. It drops frim 60 to under 30. Also battery power gauge drops well below 14 when originally was over 14. This also began at the same time oil pressure issues began.
On trucks equipped with the cheaper low trim backup cameras anytime I touch the brakes while backing up the camera cuts out. It's usually a white flash or solid white line but on occasion will cut out completely to a black screen.
