I just picked up this 2003 2500HD with the Duramax and Allison Transmission 4x4 124,500 Miles on the clock...I drove 500 miles to get it, and test drove great, on the way home it revved up a few times and sounded like a grind, transmission temp was good and I even stopped and checked fluid level and everything was good. I drove the rest of the way home and it acted up 2 more times.
My mechanic friend seems to think the transfer case is bad. So the lot is not taking any responsibility and as far as I can tell the factory Remaining warranty only covers the Injectors? This sucks and should be fixed.
