Ok the check engine light came on 2 weeks after I got an oil change, and firestone did a diagnostic on it and said it was the camshift sensor. I get it replaced, to the tune of $300. Not a huge amount but large enough to cause problems. and then the damn engine light came on last night, two weeks after I had the sensor replaced. If you are going to have the sensor replaced, have the mechanic search for any potential oil leaks cause that could be causing the problem. Of course you'd think a mechanic would check that anyway.
