When I plug a USB cable (yes, I tried other cables thinking that might be the issue) into my phone, it tries to load the device (my iPhone) and will recognize it then drop it, then recognize it and drop it, over and over again! I finally just have to unplug my phone and use the Bluetooth function. It's annoying since this is how I charge my phone in the car and I can't do that now!
Update from Apr 11, 2013: I took my car to a dealer (warranty covered service...whew) and they could not make this happen for any of the devices they plugged in (they told me they used an iPod, iPhone, & iPad). Each device they plugged in was recognized right away and was never dropped by the system. Occasionally I still have an issue with the whole recognize and drop of my iPhone, but since they rebooted the system for the freezing problem this has happened much less frequently!
