I HAVE A PROBLEM THAT I DON'T WHATS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. SOMETIMES IT CRANKS SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. AT FIRST I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS OUT OF GAS B/C I PARKED IT ONE DAY AND THE FUEL WAS REAL LOW. I WENT AND FILLED A 2GAL. JUG WITH GAS AND PUT IN THERE. IT CRANKED. DONE THIS A FEW TIMES. WELL IT HAPPENED AND I HAD OVER A HALF A TANK OF GAS, WOULD NOT CRANK ACTED LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS .JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY WENT FILLED JUG UP PUT IN THERE. IT CRANKED. WENT FILLED TRUCK UP WITH GAS THINKING MAYBE GAS GAUGE NOT WORKING ONLY PUT ABOUT 6 GAL. IN IT SO I KNOW IT WASN'T EMPTY. I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSES THIS. IF FOR ANY REASON I FIND OUT WHAT IT IS I WILL POST A SOLUTION FOR IT BUT RIGHT NOW NOTHING. THIS PROBLEM HAS CAUSED MY KIDS TO MISS 3 DAYS OF SCHOOL. NOT ALL THE SMAE WEEKS. IT JUST HAPPENS RANDOM. YOU NEVER KNOW.

Update from Jun 4, 2013: Was told needed knock sensor replaced. replaced them still did same thing. No one knew what was wrong with it.

we decided to replace the fuel pump. that fixed it. i had nothing but trouble with this vehicle. finally got rid of it because i had problems with brake system. this vehicle had so many problems.

Tahoe Z71 Don'T Know V8

My Tahoe doesn't start sometimes. It just started happening within the past few months - about 1 time per week. The battery has been replaced, my steering wheel has been tightened and greased. I take it to a certified GM dealer and they can't replicate the problem so they don't know what's wrong. When I put the key in, there is no sound or noise, only lights. If I wait several hours, I can try to turn it on again and it works again. But, after I've been stranded waiting for it to come on again. How come the dealer knows nothing about this, yet the problem has been reported all over the internet by other Tahoe owners? And, I do take my Tahoe in for check-ups all the time and all required liquid changes and tire rotations. This is ridiculous. What is the problem???? It's bad when even the dealer doesn't know or perhaps doesn't care!
