Tahoe slams back into 2nd gear, gauges drop to zero and can only go about 5mph. The traction control and ABS light comes on and the radio turns on and off by its self also the lock will go up and down. This happens out of the blue 3 times going highway speeds. The speedometer will go up and down as well. If I slow down to pull over and try to pick up speed to get over th gas petal seems to not respond.I've been fighting this issue since may of 2018 and it has been in the shop off and on many many times and is currently in the shop for the same thing.. I've already replaced battery cables, tried a battery, new fuse box, new BCM also found service bulletins that states the exact problem to the T and nothing works! you can go online and find hundreds of people that had the sales issue. But nothing seems to fix it. I have versions of it messing up because other people thought I was crazy that it had this issue and then I show them and they are like wow that is crazy!
The dash board is cracking and falling apart. The vehicle is parked inside the garage daily. Just like all other GM models of this body style. For what these vehicles cost, the dash shouldn't be falling apart. Very sad on GM's part.
Large crack development on dash at passenger side airbag and driver side on top of cluster this is a garage kept vehicle that has less than 100 miles a month since purchasing.
The dash has cracks in it on the top near the airbags, next to the speaker, and above the drivers side and it make making noise. He material used to make the panel is weak and may explode if airbag goes off on passenger side.
The dashboard is cracked on the passenger side from the corner of the airbag cover to the air vent under the windshield. The crack was not visible when the vehicle was purchased used in May 2018 but has since appeared and grown as of July 2018 during regular city driving. We have concerns the crack may interfere with normal deployment of the airbag or cause pieces of the dash to become projected through the cabin upon airbag deployment.
My 2010 Chevy Tahoe ltz has 35K miles with the same cracks on the dashboard as every other owner all over the web and on the facebook group specifically for this issue. This is a manufacturer defect 2 years after $60 billion of taxpayer/consumer money bailed them out. GM refuses to fix this problem around the airbag and across the entire dashboard.
I have a 2010 Chevy Tahoe and I noticed a crack on the top of the dash. I am concerned that in the event of an accident that the air bags would deploy that the dash would send shards of plastic.
There is a large crack on the passenger side of the dashboard. It is by the airbag. This causes the entire dash to vibrate and make noises. I am afraid that the airbag may be compromised. This just occurred one day. My Tahoe is kept in the garage. I have never taken it off road or 4 wheel driving to cause this.
The dash is cracked in several places. The cracks occurred over time due to the vibrations that occur while operating the vehicle. The cracks started as small cracks and grew into the cracks shown in the pictures below. I know this is an issue with many GM models that were built around 2010. A simple internet search will reveal many GM owners that also have cracked dashes. This is a safety issue. If my airbag goes off there is a high probability that the dash breaks apart and one of the dash pieces becomes a projectile, endangering the passengers in my vehicle, or slashes the airbag as it inflates (if it inflates because NHTSA has not yet required GM to issue a recall on my takata airbag). There are thousands of people with the same issue. It would cost me over $1,000 to replace the dash myself. GM should be required to replace the faulty product that they put in my car, which is now a danger to my any my passengers' safety.
Bought my Tahoe a year ago in perfect condition. I clean it 2 to 3 times a month due to having 5 kids. Last month I was pulling out of the driveway and heard a loud pop. The next time I cleaned it, it had a crack to the right upper side of the passenger airbag. 2 days ago I was cleaning the dash and there is another huge crack above the steering column. I thought it was just my vehicle and see all these complaints. I've always owned Chevy and have never had this issue! if anything happens to my babies because of this defect, I'll own GM. I'm scared to have anyone sit in the passenger seat. You should never feel uncomfortable or unsafe driving a $24,000 vehicle! taking to dealership to see how much it will be to replaced and how much more money I'll have to add to fix a defect that isn't my fault.
The dashboard has two long cracks, one above the instrument panel and one by the passenger side airbag. Called GM and they would not replace it. This happened when the truck wasn't even a full two years old. The truck in kept in a garage and I use sun visors during the day to protect the dash from the sun. The cracks continue to grow. This is a defect from GM and they should pay for replacement. I am worried if I get into an accident, pieces of the dash will fly into peoples faces in the truck or cause a deploying airbag to malfunction. The stability control light came on in 2012 and the dealer again would not fix it.
Takata recall. Its been a year since getting any new information on this particular recall and now my dashboard is cracking!!! called all Chevy dealers in honolulu and its going to cost an arm and a leg to get my dashboard changed!!! very unacceptable that GM won't fix this problem. I just finsished my extended warranty and now this happens!!!! come on GM, fess up to this prpblem!!!!!
Takata recall - my SRS light came on in my truck stating that maintenance needed to be preformed. Shortly afterwards, my dash cracked in front of the airbag compartment. I feel this is a safety hazard to anyone sitting in the passenger seat.
