This gauge flip-flops more than a politician during election season. Some report that the gauge says "empty" after a fill-up, while others report the gauge says "full" when they're running on fumes. Either way, there's one thing everyone seems to agree on: the darn thing is just wrong.
Following hundreds of complaints and a few accidents allegedly caused by the malfunction, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation into the issue in May 2011. Unfortunately for frustrated owners, no recall has been announced.

Cruise control shut down. It was set at 70 mph. Vehicle was going uphill and it felt like the engine had died. The speed drop was sudden and drastic, luckily there were no vehicles following when it occurred. It would not resume nor reset by turning cruise control switch off and on. Vehicle did accelerate using foot pedal. Started vehicle up next day to take it to dealer and the cruise control worked fine. Contacted dealer and was told he never heard of this problem before and maybe it was just a fluke happening.
With cruise control set going down hill. The vehicle doesn't hold the speed you set it at. Depending on the size of the hill it will gain between 5 and 15 mph.
