A week after I bought this truck the engine light came on. Went back to the dealer. 2 days later, picked it up and ran fine for a few months. They stated not sure what the problem was. They reset the computer. Next getting ready for work one morning truck did not want to start. Called a friend that just happens to work for the dealership as a mechanic. Ran a diagnostic and said it needed the throttle body. after couple of hundred dollars the truck started right up.

6-7 months later, engine light on again. Called another mechanic, ran another diagnostic. Showed 2 codes; one bad thermostat and catalytic converter. After replacing this parts and doing work myself, truck was ready. So I thought, after all what else can go wrong right? Well I'll tell you, one month later, NO OIL PRESSURE.

Went and purchased a manual, they suggested its either oil sensor or oil pump. Trying to save a buck I bought the sensor, replaced it, you guessed it that was not the problem. To replace the oil pump was a learning experience. Working on this project only on weekends, took me 2 months.

This is now May 2015 on the way back from out of town dam light is on once again. Truck has 134000 miles just paid off cannot afford payments guess I'm just stuck with this sorry Chevy. P.S did I mentioned the ac control only works 1-3, the gas meter doesn't work, and the ignition switch does not release the key, I have taken the cover off the steering column (bottom) to press a release button in order to get the key out.

CAN ANYBODY MAKE ME UNDERSTAND WHY THIS TRUCK HAS NOT BEING RECALLED PLEASE.

I have been searching for a fix to the engine check light continuously coming on. After many repairs over 5 years since 2010 the check engine light comes on with a mind of its own every 3 months. I take it to a trusted mechanic service and 75% of the time, nothing is wrong. A friend who owned a 2002 Trailblazer told me about the quick fix, turn on your ignition key - disconnect the battery cables, wait 5 minutes and reconnect you'll hear all the clicking for reset. Turn off your ignition and restart - the light will go out. It's a pain in the ass (extremely annoying to see the light come on time after time when driving) to do this each time but it saves lots of $$$$$$$.$$.

I've owned this car for 5 years and have put in over $5,000 in repairs - it's now in showroom condition; it's that blasted CHECK ENGINE LIGHT! I'm considering cutting the wire or using my .45ACP to solve the problem (on the car not on me) . After reading all the complaints about the Chevy Trailblazers with the same problem I'm convinced I should have stayed a FORD guy. I'll be selling this SUV soon.
