I purchase this car in January 2015 and I took it back in February for them to check the transmission. They said there's nothing wrong but I know something was wrong. So I waited to make another appointment when I realize the battery was low and it needed changing. They didn't say anything about that until I said something. But back to the transmission. I got it fixed in April and a month later the transmission is doing the same thing. So I'm not happy with Rick Hendricks mechanics or there dealership!

Traverse LS 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,240 miles

Was just recently driving the wife's Traverse and noticed a delay in the transmission when shifting into reverse. After the transmission engaged in reverse the vehicle jerked a couple of time as I gave it gas.

Two days later, shifting from third to fourth gear the engine revved up and then jumped into gear. On the same trip the transmission stayed in first gear when accelerating from a traffic light. Only when I let off the gas did the transmission finally shift into second.

Hopefully they recall this entire vehicle. I've had nothing but problems with this vehicle and I intent to drive this thing into the ground. Which may not be to far off.

Update from Aug 27, 2015: Took the vehicle back to Chevy and not a moment too soon. As my wife was waiting for the service department to open up, the vehicle began to make a loud noise. When they told her to pull it in, the transmission would not shift into drive. She could only get it in reverse and had to back up into a spot.

After they took it for a test drive they determined that the transmission had to be replaced. When they replaced it they discovered that the 3,5,R wave plate was completely shattered due to improper heating.

The transmission was replaced at no charge. Thankfully there was an extension of the warranty due to this problem.
