CarComplaints.com Notes: There are a fair-number of power steering related complaints which is a continuation of problems from the previous model year. Considering the problem tends to happen beyond the standard warranty (73k+) it's best to avoid this vehicle or at least be prepared for the $1,300+ repair.

Wrote a letter to GM about this Service Air Bag warning displaying intermittently. Same issue was addressed in a recall, however my VIN was not listed in the recall (though the year, make & model was). Took to dealer for service after speaking with GM and having them schedule the service appointment for me. Planning on submitting paperwork for possible reimbursement from GM.

I took the vehicle to a different dealership a year ago for the same issue; they told me it was likely the passenger presence sensor, and would cost ~$1000 to fix. My repair today (replacement of a wire under the front passenger seat/congruent with the recall info) is going to run ~$350 today. Not all factory dealerships are created equal. Do your research before bringing your vehicle in for service.

Received Air bag recall notice in July, 2014. Of course, the parts were not then available. When parts were available, had vehicle repaired. Supposedly. On vacation in Florida in February of this year. Air bag sensors went off. Took vehicle to local dealer who repaired connectors under driver's seat. On October 1, 2016, air bag lights came on again. Took the vehicle to local Chevrolet dealer who said module needs replaced at a cost of $500, plus over $200 for installation. I have not had vehicle repaired yet because of the cost. I am also not completely sure I want to keep this vehicle after reading the complaints of other Chevy Traverse owners. Grrrr! I am an extremely unhappy Chevy owner! Sign me as a future Nissan owner.
