This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
In passenger front seat when someone is sitting there the seatbelt will just undo on its own at times. Also the person will weight over 100lbs and the air bag light indicator will go to on and off.
This involves the drivers bottom seat assy. Within 10,000 of driving this vehicle, noticed the foam padding was breaking down on the left side of the seat cushion. When this occurs, you end up sitting on a round steel tube which is part of the seat frame. I was able to have the GM dealer replace under warranty, within approx. 10,00 miles again the seat cushion has degraded to the point of sitting on metal. I then contacted Chevrolet service, see service request number: 8-3426353686. After describing the issue, was contacted by the dealer, told them was a design flaw, told Chevrolet this, was then told to replace would cost money. I would have no issue with this except the seat is poorly designed and needs to be redesigned.
