This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Transmission shifting very hard to the point of actually making noise. The fuel gauge quit working about 3 years ago, it just goes back and forth to whatever it feels like. Crankshaft pulley separated at highway speed causing the belt to jump and tangle in everything, too the point of actually being pulled into the front main seal causing that to have to be replaced.
In our 2000 Chevy Venture the fuel gauge seems to randomly choose the fuel level it will indicate. It rarely seems to show what I would guess to be the actual fuel level. I even saw the gauge swinging back and forth a couple of times. It once resulted in my wife running out of gas while en route to picking up our children from school (while the gauge said there was more than half a tank).
