Mechanic told me no problem to fix. Changing out the fuel pump and filter system will resolve this. Flushed the system also. 800.00 -

Figured worth it since I had travel plans and the erratic, all over the place fluctuation was not reliable.

Three weeks after that it is all over the place again. This time I take it to a dealer because I was told dealers knew if there was a repeat problem, and how to fix it.

The dealer took my money, knowing he was not fixing it. They replaced the same parts and system telling me it must be defective parts and no, I could not get a refund from the other mechanic. The dealer should have told me it was not fixable. They lied and took my money. I have taken the van back and pointed out it is not fixed and they pretend to fix it by moving the gauge with their test equipment and say it is fixed. I can't prove it is not fixed till gas is used. The drive back to the dealer takes time and more gas.

The economy is not why American car companies have problems. It is the dishonest and bad business practice on top of bad. CHEVEROLET is not reliable, and I will not purchase another. I will not use their service after this deception.

does anyone know the solution to this problem? I've gotten stranded once and am trying to watch my fuel usage by the amount of miles driven.

Three months after I bought it, the fuel sensor went out on it. Was told it was going to cost over $300 to fix. I just now got rid of this vehicle 2 days ago. From the time this problem started until I gave it back, I had to keep track of the fuel by writing down how many gallons I put in. Would then have to keep track of how many gallons I had used so I knew when to put more gas in. This was a total pain, especially trying to explain it to people that borrowed my van.

I too am experiencing gas gauge fluctuations. Depending on if I am parked uphill or down I can have either a full tank or my low fuel warning dinging constantly. It also really likes to fly to full then crash to empty at random, and very frequently, just for kicks!! I fill up every week no matter what and every few hours on a road trip. I'm looking for a Honda, I'm done with domestic vehicles!!!!

Fuel gauge fluctuates wildly when under 1/3 tank. Cannot tell when you need gas. Took to dealer and SM said they would check, estimated $98.00. Called later and said cost to fix is $476. I declined, when I picked up car was charged $98 for diagnosis.
