I was sitting in traffic at a dead stop, then when the traffic light changed to green I put my foot on the gas pedal. As soon as I did the accelerator pedal stuck, went all the way to the floor and caused me to hit the vehicle in front of me. Also my gas gauge didn't work and would randomly move back and forth, even if I had a full tank of gas. Then, the driver side brake light continued to go out due to the melting of the part of the bulb, not the bulb itself. My electric sliding door on passenger side came off the track due to the cord and pulley/motor in the door. I could never get the door to work other than by manually opening and closing the door after that.

For 6-7 years we have experienced various lighting problems with our Chevy Venture (2000). The left rear circuit board has burned out twice. I recently put a new one on and now just about 12 weeks later, I am having break and blinker issues again. Actually, the blinker started having issues within days.

We own a 2000 Chevy Venture that we bought used about 4 years ago. When we bought it, the button for the doors to open automatically didn't work as well as the gas gauge. Since, we have replaced the heads, the water pump, rack and pinion, wheel hub, tie rod end, as well as replacing the head lights every couple months and now having problems with the brake lights.when we had the heads replaced, they flushed the radiator and we are still having problems with the low coolant light coming on and the fluid looking cloudy. They told us that the cloudiness sometimes happens, but still doesn't explain the light coming on saying its low!!! we were also notified that the ABS box is bad and needs replaced...also, sometimes there is water that leaks from the weather gauge or the top of the windshield. Also the traction system light comes on and actually shuts the system off when you turn the van on, this maybe due to the bad ABS box but has been doing this longer then the ABS light has been on. There is also rust along the van below the sliding doors. The locks also sometimes stick when using the keypad or the electrical lock button inside the van. We can't wait to get rid of this van! just hope we have better luck with our next vehicle.

My brake lights keep going out. It turns out that every light bulb I install melts down within 2 months. I am not the only one with this problem. I found this form on a thread about defective Venture tail light assemblies!

Rear directional signals have worked intermittently for years. The right has been more intermittent than the left. Often the right signal would blink very rapidly when the brakes were applied. Now, all of a sudden, neither the brake lights nor the directional work most of the time. The high mount brake light still works and the directional signals on the dash both come on at the same time. The rear tail light circuit boards have been a significant safety problem on the GM minivans for years and it doesn't seem that anything has been done about it.

I purchased my 2000 Chevy Venture van 1year ago. Ever since I bought it the driver side brake light has gone out several times. Each time my husband replaced the bulb and noticed that it was melted at the connection site. Now the passenger side is starting to have the same problem! I was stopped by a lady the other day who told me that now apparently my turn signals on the back of the van are not working as well. I paid alot of money for this van 1year ago and it has multiple problems and it seems strange to me that it is the same problems that I see on this report all the time! Chevy needs to make good on their mistakes and fix the problems that keep occurring to these mini vans! I have always bought GM, but I bought Pontiac minivans. I will continue to do so in the future as soon as I can sell this one!

The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Venture. The contact stated that the front and back of the undercarriage were damaged and smashed in over the brake lines. In addition, the front passenger side axle makes strange crunching noises, the vehicle shimmies severely, and the cruise control fails to deactivate when it should. Furthermore, the seat belts do not properly restrain the occupants and the headlights blink on and off while driving at night. The contact placed two new front tires on the vehicle, as well as a new set of brakes. The dealer stated that the vehicle was previously in a crash, in which the hood, fender, and undercarriage were damaged. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 103,000 and current mileage was 113,000.

I own a 2000 Chevy Venture van the brake light constantly go out.. but when the turn signal went out and we changed the bulb, that is when the problems started now the brake lights on the drivers side do not work and the other lights are very dim. The back up lights work intermittently on that same side.. I took the assembly apart and noticed that the connector that goes into the circuit board is burned badly. This is a major safety issue, my wife drives our children around to and from school and other events every day. This year of van should too be recalled or the parts available at no cost to the owner due to it being a flaw in the design of this van. There are so many complaints on the internet about this problem it is becoming ridiculous..

The drivers side sliding door came off the hinge at the back. The door will not close properly now, and can not be used. The brake light burns out everytime it is replaced and looks like it melts the base of the bulb and the socket looks like it has been melted also. The middle section, drivers side seat belt will not release.
