I was driving and all of a sudden the car started making a loud whining noise and seemed to be downshifting and lurching by itself. It was not shifting properly and it seemed to be doing stuff by itself. I did not have control over what it was doing. I had to pull off the highway and called triple a and the car had to be towed. It was repaired and now 2 weeks later it again downshifted by itself out of the blue and started whining again. It has not been driven since.

The trasmision has a jerking around 25 to 30 speed this has been doing this since day one I field complaints they had some one come from the manufactor to check it out he said it does what it is suppose to do I tryed for the lemon law I have all paper work yet then why am I not the only one complaing about this car.

Torque converter stopped working properly causing the car to stall while at slow speeds and breaking. This could be in urban and rural settings. Any example of slowing down, stopping, yielding, etc. Upon diagnostics it was found the torque converter needed to be replaced, as well as a pump (which one was not specified by the service E team) starting in early to mid October 2018

Happens at random while driving the car will go out of gear as if in neutral (automatic trans vehicle ) then go back in gear jerking the whole car sometimes even making the wheels spin. This has all happened while the car is moving both street and highway, turning and decelerating.

My transmission has had nothing but problems shifting, racing rpms, banging and clunky plus the gears are searching. The software has been updated along with its recalls. Because there is no code when present or engine light. Chrysler will not call it not working. But they state its working fine because no codes or engine light. The dealer gave me a harx time with it as a trade in. The brakes have been an issue and they hear the noise byt state they are fine when in fact they dont always stop when pressing down. My front end and steering has been taken apart and replaced so many times. The front end scapes clunks still. I explained to both Chrysler Corp and arrigo Dodge Chrysler in West palm beach. Im still having problems. The car feels like I lose control of the car. I have a bad car service records state all the repairs. And the dealer is no help when the car was bumber to bumber coverage. All they did was year down take apart which they have done shotty work. And ripped off me. I have no recourse than to be stuck with this so called dream car of mine. $30,000 investment down the tubes.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH MY HOOD AND THE SAME TIME MY CAR WAS LOOSING POWER I GLANCED AT MY WARNING LIGHTS IN WHICH THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATION THAT MY CAR WAS HOT NOR DID THE ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED. I FINALLY PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY ALMOST CAUSING A PILEUP WITH A BIG RIG I PROCEEDED TO OPEN THE HOOD WHEN I NOTICED OIL THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THEY CONTACTED THE WARRANTY DEPT IN WHICH THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.MY CAR SAT AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR APPROXIMATELY 60 TO 90 DAYS THE WARRANTY DEPT WANTED VARIOUS PIC OF THE ENGINE A DIANOGSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED THE OUTCOME WAS EVERYTHING WAS PROPERLY RUNNING THE DEALER SHIP FOUND A PISTON RING THAT CAME OFF THE PISTON AND A NEW ENGINE HAD TO BE PUT IN THAT'S WHEN THE WARRANTY DEPT DENIED MY CLAIM STATING IT WAS MY FAULT BECAUSE I CHANGED MY OIL IN WHICH I DID AT LEAST 4 TO5 TIMES A DAY I MAILED THEM PROOF OF MY PURCHASES OF THE OIL SUPPLIES I BOUGHT BUT WAS STILL DENIED THE CAR DEALERSHIP TOOK IT UPON THEMSELVES TO PAYOFF THE REMAINING BALANCE OF 10000 BECAUSE I COULDN'T AFFORD TO BUY A NEW ENGINE WHICH WAS UNDER WARRANTY CAN YOU PLEASE ASSIST ME THE CAR DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN AVOIDING ME AS WELL AS MY PHONE CALLS IAM A SPORTS OFFICIAL IN WHICH I LOST ALOT OF WORK DUE TO NO TRANSPORTATION [XXX] THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. While driving at low speeds, the vehicle was difficult to shift from first to second gear. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The issue occurred intermittently. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16V668000 (seat belts, air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact was informed that owners would receive a second notice when remedy parts become available in June of 2017. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

I purchased a Chrysler 200, 2013 from manhattan Chrysler. This car is a lemon it has a bad transmission and the anti-lock brakes lock at random. I took the car to manhattan Chrysler for repair when it only had 21,000mi. They recognized the transmission problem after the second visit. Chrysler said that the brake are no longer under warranty. After they rebuild the transmission the vehicle still didn't perform the transmission continued to slip in second gear. I returned the vehicle to Chrysler, now the fourth time in repair. At this point, I was directed to the reconsideration dept. They offered as compensation a one time car payment of $493.13'I was absolutely insulted because I paid $39.505.00 with finance charges. I sought legal help but they weren't much help. I was told by lemon law atty. That litigation would take 2 yrs. And I may not even receive $4,000. Chrysler, totally disregarded my attorney and would not corresponded to any phone calls or letter on my behalf from the atty. I am a veteran and I am totally disabled with a severe back injury and I use a cane to walk because I fall often. My mom recently had a severe stroke she is now in rehab 45min. Away and I don't have Transport ion to go check on her. I voluntarily surrender my vehicle to the finance co. Now my credit report reflex a $16,000. Default for the lemon I purchase at Chrysler. Please help!

As I was doing 70 mph on the hwy my car started slowing down to 30 mph and would not pick up speed, the symbols that came on the car were for the electronic throttle control and the electronic stability control. I pulled over and turned the car off and after a minute or so, I restarted the car and continued on, after being able to drive only a few feet, it started again. Once I made it home, I let the car sit overnight and when I drove into work this morning after 14 minutes on the hwy, it started again.

I've been having issues with the transmission shifting. While on the highway going up a slight incline the transmission shifts from 6th gear to 5th and back to 6th rapidly. It doesn't matter if cruise control or manual. The second issue is the starting the car and putting it into drive. It goes into gear hard the out of gear and back into gear. When I start to drive the transmission will not shift. It is stuck in gear. I can put it into manual shift and it will not make a difference. I have to pull over. Shut off the vehicle and start it back. Then the transmission will shift correctly. This happens maybe once a month. Recently it has happened twice in two weeks. The third issue is downshifting of the automatic transmission. I have let off the gas and it down shift hard enough to pull your back from the seat. It is worse coasting down a step hill when it downshift hard. I have been to the Chrysler dealer four times so far for the same issues first 08/26/2015 second 10/28/2015 third 05/25/2016 fourth 09/17/2016 I have also been in contact with Chrysler. Both the dealer and Chrysler says they have never heard of this issue. The dealer will take a 6 mile road test and say there is nothing wrong. The last appointment the dealer was supposed to drive over 50 miles to try to duplicate my issues. They never took the car on the road and said nothing was wrong and it drove fine. Chrysler or the dealership have not made an attempt to repair the vehicle. I have two videos of that the car does on the road and the transmission acts up.

I have a 2013 Chrysler 200, it has roughly 70,000 miles, as I was accelerating onto the highway the vehicle would not go over 40-50 mph. I was almost rear-ended because everyone was trying to get onto the highway. I couldn't pull over because of it being over a bridge. When I went to pull over the car stalled and would not start until the 3rd or 4th try. The car is practically brand new there is no way this should be having this problem. As I am reading many of the other complaints this seems to be pretty common in this vehicle & year.

Last night my electronic throttle control (etc) light came on. I made it home just fine and the light was only on for a few secs. This morning I turned the corner on a street my car wouldn't go over 20 mph. The etc light came on and stayed on. I was able to make it back home. I've been doing research and this seems to be a popular (not popular) problem. My car has approx. 78,000 miles. It has not been taken to the dealer yet.

The vehicle was driven to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the pressure in the catalyst was causing the transmission fluid to get dirty and causing the transmission not to shift out of gear. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.
