For the past several months I have been having issues with my car starting. There are no indicators that theres any issue with the vehicle. It just takes about several seconds to get a crank in order for the car to come on. I have taken it to get it looked at to see what the cause of the problem was. No issues with the battery or starter. I had the spark plugs changed with an oil change and still the same issue. Since then for the past few days upon my initial start for the day my car has shut off on me while driving down the residential road less then a mile in it stops out of nowhere locks the car up so im unable to stir the car and tells me to part the car in park. After that im unable to get the car to start again after several attempts then it'll finally crank back up after putting the key flob next to the push start button. What is going on with my car. This is dangerous thank god I wasnt on the highway nor where cars behind me. I have checked for recalls on my car and its not indicating any for mine in particular but there are recalls on 2015 Chrysler 200 models. My car isnt under warranty and has over 100 thousand miles.

The vehicle would cut off after starting & driving a very short distance then the check engine/flashing lightning bolt would come on. Once the car was off and then restarted, the lights would go off and it might run fine as long as you didn't accelerate too quickly & drove a good distance without having to stop and start a lot. The issue would arise more when driving short distances with constant stops & tight turns or sometimes when having to de-accelerate quickly. Once the car was off for a second then restarted, the only light that would sometimes stay on would be the check engine light. Therefore, I took the car to an O'reillys for a free test & the only codes that came back was P0302 - cylinder 2 misfire & P2172 - throttle actuator control system. The issue had gotten worse so I had a mechanic replace all 4 spark plugs with ngk iridium plugs and the 2nd cylinder ignition coil with a Bosch ignition coil. The cylinder 2 misfire code went away when restarting the vehicle but the main issue persists, the car won't stay on & the P2172 tacs code is still present. The vehicle is unsafe & unable to drive. The date I'm using for the question of when the issue happened is when I had the spark plugs and ignition coil replaced. The original issue started around the 2nd week of December somewhere between December 10th-December 14th.

Vehicle, even after repair continues to have front-passenger airbag light. Even after oil levels are changed and maintained, cabin and air filters changed, vehicle continues to stall even after servicing (both paid and under warranty) Chrysler has not resolved the issues that harbor my vehicle and offer no solution. Temp/engine light issue came on during highway travel. Stalling usually occurs on city and residential streets. Both in motion.

Car not wanting to turn over when trying to start without jumping. Had battery and alternator checked both are fine and starter was replaced no more than maybe a year ago. This is daily and if sits throughout day. Lights and everything interior turn on and it acts like it wants to turn over just not enough power. Also replaced battery in key fob. I drive to work for half hour. When driving the vehicle hard shifts between 30-35mph for no apparent reason, on the highway or in city, the whole car hard shifts and the driver and passenger can both hear and feel it. They test it and say nothing is wrong with any transmission, etc. They refuse to fix even under warranty. The car warms up for 15 minutes before driven anywhere and the temperature doesn't affect it, it divvies both summer and winter now for 3 years!! now, it pops up AWD service and they say it should have no reason to be displaying it. I'm stuck with a vehicle unsafe for my kids because no one can find an issue!

My car keeps stopping in the middle of traffic. It has been serviced, but what ever the service department is doing its not working. This car is unsafe and as caused danger to my type 1 diabetic husband and myself. The car is now in my drive way. I have been having problems with this since since I purchased it in February 2017, and they never fix the problem. The car jerks and stops and starts when it want to. I have changed the batteries in the remote several times and have taking it to three different places for a diagnosis, and Chrysler cant seem to fix the problem when they built the car. I need help. I am still paying on this piece of a car. Everyone that has this car says they car does the same thing. So I know there is a recall for this vehicle. This car has stop and will not start at all.

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the gear shifter unexpectedly shifted into neutral, the vehicle then stalled while driving 60 mph. The vehicle was restarted however, the contact stated that when the vehicle shifted into third gear, the vehicle inadvertently shifted back into neutral and stalled. The contact also stated that after setting the cruise control to a specific speed, the vehicle accelerated independently above the set speed without depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact manually turned off the cruise control. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the shifting into neutral was due to a power distribution failure and that the software needed to be reprogrammed. The dealer also informed the contact that no trouble codes were found on the cruise control and to take the vehicle to an authorized Chrysler dealer for assistance. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under NHTSA campaign number: 16V529000 (power train). The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

Vehicle literally shuts off abruptly with absolutely no warning signs but restarts again perfectly except for you have to reprogram radio and climate control. The first time it happened which was 2 days ago I was coming to a stop at a stop light and it turned green almost immediately, I pressed the gas and within seconds the car just came to an abrupt stop engine electrical everything went dead. Then today it happened to me twice the first time I was at a fast food drive-thru ordering with my foot on the brake, no warning sign it kind of clunks it jerks and then it says if somebody were to have just shut the car off. The third time I was coming out of the grocery store parking lot, coming up to a light slightly pressing the brake and it completely clunk cut off. I have been extremely extremely lucky that nobody has rear-ended me in any of these circumstances, but I am very dependent on my car however I am now avoiding using it. I looked into the problem by reading articles and this seems to have been a problem at one time for my make and model of car I am very concerned about this problem.

Shortly after driving the vehicle after start up, it stalls and begins to quickly slow down. No warning lights, or check engine light. Once you get it stopped and restart it, it does the same thing about 3-7 miles down the road. Then it won't do it at all for the rest of the day. This has caused dangerous situations. No codes to go on for a possible problem. This model has han many many complaints for this same problem, and I believe recalled before for it, but a check of recalls for this VIN shows no un-repaired recalls. I do not know what to do at this point. Vehicle has just under 60,000 miles and is in very good condition. Dealer has stated that without codes showing up, and or witnessing the problem they really can't do anything about it. This has happened during busy traffic and caused cars to almost hit me from behind when mine stalls and slows down from no power. Luckily I have been in areas that have a shoulder to move onto. I honestly do not think I am being told everything about this problem from the dealership, because from researching it on line, I have found thousands of complaints this very same problem, and nobody seams to have a clear answer for it that I can find. My lights on the dash board keep cutting off, it keep saying there is a problem with my steering and can't turn, stalls when pulling off, and cut off while driving. I travel on a busy city street and scared I might cut off or stalled and cause an accident and get killed or kill someone else due to my car malfunctioning. Everything happens to my car in motion and I have to keep programming my key to my car.

The vehicle check engine light permanently stays on and the vehicle will just die as you're driving it could be in the middle of an intersection it could be when you're reversing it doesn't matter I just wants to die and then not start up and it sounds like the gears are not automatically shifting. On September 17th, 2020 I was driving my great niece to daycare and when I parked the car and cut it off, it would not start back up or allow me to shift at all. A new battery was purchased which did nothing, a towing service was called and it was flatbed delivered to a certified mechanic and it was determined that the computer brain is gone and the car will not cut off when you push the button to cut it off, they had to disconnect the negative battery terminal. This is a 2015 Chrysler 200 limited with only 53,000 miles and I don't know if it's the powertrain or anything because the brain is gone. They built these cars with no safety in mind. I am just thankful it didn't stop on the highway with my baby inside. And now the Chrysler dealership wants to charge thousands to repair it.

Based on experience, the problem seems to be within the electrical system. The car will shut off for no apparent reason. The mirrors and locks have stopped working. It seems the problem may be the power distribution center (pdc) electrical connector that may cause intermittent power failures to certain electrical components.

While driving out of a parking lot to get onto a main street, when accelerating to pick up speed, the car began to lose control and felt as if the car slipped into neutral. A screen popped up on the dash stating "service transmition" and "engage parking break to prevent rolling". while the notification was on the dash, the gear shifter blinked on "D" and locked up. Unable to allow us to switch to any other gear. The car was towed to mike toler Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Fiat dealership located at 5340 hwy 70 w, morehead city, nc 28557. The service area diagnosed it as needing to repair the transmission valve body. We did not receive an invoice for this diagnoses, but I can call and ask for one during business hours tomorrow. We researched make and model for recalls, and our personal VIN number. Our make and model had 8 recalls, one including recall 16V529000 for NHTSA and S55 for Chrysler. After asking the Chrysler dealership to make sure these did not apply to our car, they were not accommodating. They stated that if we wanted to make sure it was a recall to file a complaint with NHTSA. We called Chrysler corporate, where they made a case number of 77342048 and informed us to contact nhsta due to the issue being what the recall states, but the VIN not having a recall.

Wants to shut off while driving, while accelerating and slowing down right before complete stop. Dashboard does not give error code. Dashboard told wife to put in (P) while in (D) going down road around 15-20mph and accelerating and I found same problem and complaint online on many websites.
