My check engine light kept coming on (P0300 random cylinder misfire error code) even though I changed my spark plugs, fuel injectors, intake manifold gasket (ring shape), intake manifold gasket (squares shape) and had my fuel tank professionally cleaned. Finally, I had issues with my reverse sensor lights all turning on, radio sound intermittently cutting-out and turn signals not working properly and tried the easy fix of unplugging my Headlamp Leveling Module or HID Translator Module (part number 4806086AE).

Problem was immediately fixed and check engine light never came on again! I tried plugging it back in again after a few days but the problem returned so I unplugged it and ordered a new one from MyMoparParts.com for US$84.19 plus shipping. Wish I knew this before changing so many parts. Could have saved a lot of money!

Driving across Goethals Bridge there a loud bang followed by a knocking sound. The engine quit and the dash board lit up like a Christmas tree. Coasted off the bridge and pulled to shoulder. By this time only a single light remained on - the electronic fuel control. Followed directions in user manual and was able to restart. The vehicle ran very rough at idle but normally at speed. Was able to drive home. At the dealership they pulled the plugs on number 6 cylinder and found them mashed flat. Dealer recommended engine disassembly to assess damage. The number 6 piston was melted, the valves were also melted. No warnings before failure. Vehicle is a 2006 300C AWD with 133,000 miles. Dealer recommends full engine replacement as the only solution. This forum was the first I have heard of engine problems. Up to now by following recommended maintenance I expected to get to 300,000 miles with ease. Only significant event was a gas tank replacement under the new lifetime warranty announced in June. Anyone have any experience with using a re-manufactured engine as a replacement?

I have an ongoing problem with my car, I get a check engine light about 50-80 miles after I put fuel in the car. On a suggestion from a mechanic I replaced the gas cap but that did not work. The one thing I noticed with the new gas cap is it never seems to tighten completely, so that might still be the problem but I don't know. The check engine light is such an annoying problem. Also, I don't know how to retrieve the failure code after I get the check engine light so I can make a more educated guess as to what the problem is.

several months ago the engine light came on, on my 2006 Chrysler 300c had it put on the machine was told the fan motor was gone, had it replaced, 30 days later it went bad again took it back the auto parts store where I bought it they replaced it, had this one put on. During this time the engine light came on again and will not go off despite having the problem corrected. The machine is still saying its the fan motor even though I have had it replaced. Tried unhooking the battery cable but to no avail. Recently I noticed the motor runs a little hard when the fan motor comes on, but the car never runs hot or anything. I am at my wits end with this car. I have been contemplating parking it and driving my 2000 740i BMW.
