300C LX 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 93,000 miles

When driving the engine occasionally shuts off completely. Causing total loss in ability to drive, power steering, anti-lock brakes, and all headlights. At night you go totally dark, without the ability to brake appropriately. this does not happen out of nowhere. There is a brief onset where they engine sputters, as if something heavy is holding onto your car. This means beware of an imminent engine shut down.

Took it to a mechanic and they could find no problems.

I was driving home and the engine just shut off, no light indicators or nothing, went dead. I had to pull over and it finally started, had a full tank of gas and everything. Was trying to search for the problem in the owners manual, and nothing is there to help.

I filed C/O with Chrysler and dealership after changing 4 computers in car and over 24 diagnostic electrical hours spent which did not fix this potentially lethal problem. I told Chrysler that I am sure someone has been killed with this problem and it would be missed because there are no error codes stored in the computer. The car just cuts off while driving leaving no steering or brakes. If this happens on interstate or gettin on in front of a Semi then one would probalbly be killed!!! I also filed a complaint with NTSB. I have also contacted a lemon law attorney who doesn't want to talk about it because of the miles in the car. My car was in the shop from 11/1/13 to 2/14/14.

MAYBE 10 TIMES OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS THE CAR JUST QUITS. IT'S LIKE ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE NET. CHRYSLER HAS A HUGE PROBLEM HERE. THEY WON'T SAY SO BUT THEY AND THE GOVERNMENT KNOW IT IS. I HAVEN'T TALKED TO ONE OWNER OF A CHRYSLER 300 WHO HASN'T HAD THEIR CAR QUIT WHILE DRIVING. IT IS VERY FRIGHTENING TO BE DRIVING AND HAVE THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF. MY WIFE DRIVES IT MOST OF THE TIME AND IS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AT ALL. IT CAN BE IN CITY OR ON HIGHWAY. NEVER AN ENGINE LIGHT.

THEY ARE GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED IF THEY DON'T STEP UP AND FIX THIS PROBLEM.

LIKE MOST OF THE 300 OWNERS I HAVEN'T TAKEN IT TO DEALER. ONCE AGAIN THEY JUST BLOW YOU OFF AND GIVE YOU SOME STORY ABOUT IT LIKE YOUR AN IDIOT. WHAT'S THE SENSE TAKING IT IN. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A VERY TRUSTED LONG TIME MECHANIC. HE COULDN'T FIND A REASON AND CHRYSLER HASN'T PUT OUT ANY BULLETINS ON THE PROBLEM.

WE ALL KNOW IT IS THE DAMN COMPUTER.

300C Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,000 miles

I was in the middle of the intersection turning left in 5pm traffic and the stupid thing died. Had enough "ump" to coast to the curb. Took several attempts to get it started again. Took it to the mechanic and he cannot find out why this happens. The "computer" shows no problem. Regardless, this keeps happening and I'm ready to trade it in for a car that doesn't scare me!!

300C 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 91,000 miles

The Chrysler 300 c is a very nice looking car, with numerous issues. Replaced both rear axles, loud ticking noise from engine ( I assume rocker arms) and Car stalls out about every third time I get gas and takes about ten minutes to reset itself. I am in the process of buying a new car. I have looked at the 2012 300', but I am somewhat leary after these issue have surfaced. I almost forget. The toggle switch on the GPS does not work anymore and I was told there is not a fix and the whole unit would neeed to be replaced to the tune of $700.00.

Our chrysler 300C just cuts off for no apparent reason. When your driving down the street it just shuts down. Once it occurs, you might be able to start it and drive 1/4 mile and it shuts off again. We've had it towed and driven to the dealership and they can't find an issue.
