CarComplaints.com Notes: Engine cradle rot is a serious problem in the 2004-05 Chrysler Pacifica. Chrysler admits they didn't apply enough coating to the vehicle's sub-frame during assembly, but only offered to cover a very small portion of the vehicles they messed up.

So what happens when your engine cradle rots? Well, the engine could fall out for starters. It could also cause problems with the suspension and other components but did I mention THE ENGINE CAN FALL OUT? The worst part is you might not know because there's no way to see the problem without getting under the car.

If you have a 2004-05 Pacifica, make sure to have your mechanic inspect your sub-frame for rust and corrosion.

Vehicle is making loud clunking type noises when accelerating or slowing down. Dealer states that a motor mount appears to be broken. Dealer knows nothing about tsb notices or recalls.

Have a clunking/popping noise in the front end when going over small bumps or holes. Have taken it to a mechanic and he couldn't visibly find the cause. Checked on the internet for anyone else with this problem and found that many people have similar problems with multiple issues effecting the front suspension.

Today I took my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica into the shop for new tires, I was told they could not do an alignment because the tie rods looked bad and to take it to the dealer, I did. I then found out from my local dealer that unfortunately that is all they see is Chrysler Pacificas...my car has less than 45K miles and I have been told that the entire front end suspension is worthless and right now I have bad gear boxes, a broken engine mount, and can count on having front axel problems as well. The dealer also had a 2004 brought in today and that car and mine were raised up and the repair men showed me and everyone else around the identical problems on both cars.

2005 Chrysler Pacifica - constant clicking noise, sounds like stones rubbing on pavement when driving. Not just in turns but anytime. I thought it was the stones in the tires - after cleaning the tires the sound persisted. Apparently Chrysler has no fix for this? I don't even know how safe my car is right now.
