I had the brakes repaired in 2012; the next month the ABS light came on and the sensor was replaced. Ten months later, the sensor light came on again. I was told it was insignificant, that the brakes are fine. In the fall of 2013, I had the car towed to a shop because it tried to accelerate while I was pressing the brakes. I spent over $800 having a bunch of codes cleared with the transmission and other things. The engine light was off for a few days but came back on. There was an error that read gas cap. I replaced the gas cap but the engine light remains on. In March 2014 the brake light came on, I was told that I needed to replace the calibers but later was told that I didn't. I had someone else to check and they said that I needed new front brakes. I had those replaced. On 4/7/2014, I was leaving the parking garage at the doctor's office and the gas pedal was stuck. Lucky for me it was on a downhill slope and I was able to stop at the stop sign and put the car in park and press the accelerator to unstick it. Today, April 13, 2014 the brake light is back on and there is a noise in the frontend. I love my car but it just does not feel safe to drive.

I just got my 06 Pacifica last March with 87000 I went to get it inspected and it failed emissions for catalytic converter and the inspection because the engine cradle is severely rotted to the point it is a safety hazard. I called the dealership I bought it from and they said it was just replaced before I bought it so that's two converters in a little over a year. Then my engine cradle is so rotted that there's a huge hole in it. I called Chrysler and they said there is only a recall on 2004-2005 but yet all there other cars have the same problem but they won't help! now here I am a year into owning this car still owe 6000$ for my loan and my car is unsafe to drive in because Chrysler fails to want to help there customers and back there products up. Chrysler dealership even admits this is a issue but the company won't fix it! I don't even know what to do!

Twice my car has froze up (car felt like it was in slow, stiff motion) while driving in the rain going about;1st time 20mph and 2nd time of issue 30mph. The battery light would come on with the ding sound to alert you and then it would freeze up while driving down a road and luckily in both incidents I was able to get over and out of the way of traffic. I would put that car in to park, shut it off, and turn it back on and it would drive normal again. Four different mechanics has tested the car but can not find the problem to correct this issue. And in both incidents I had my 5 year old daughter in the car with me. If I would have been unable to get out of the way this would have been a different letter. Also another issues is the back tailgate will not stay up in cold weather and has come crashing down on my head more than once. That is very painful and startling to have happen to you when you are putting groceries in your car. My children are not allowed to place anything in the back because I fear that they will be crushed and that also has been looked at my mechanics who can not find a plausible cause for this to happen either.

There are holes and rust all over the engine cradle. I see that the 2004 and 2005 models have recalls on them and was wondering how to start action on this for 2006 models.

We have had multiple issues with this vehicle since we purchased it. First issue was the cv boots that had completely disintegrated. This occurred 62,123 miles. Next issue that is still occurring today and deeply concerns me is that the accelerator pedal sticks from time to time. Not sure what causes that to happen but it scares the living day lights out of me on a weekly basis. Shortly after that the check engine light came on and the panel read gascap. Well we bought a new gas cap and the issue was not resolved. Since then we were told it was the fuel pump that needed to be replaced. Again, more money out of our pocket so unfortunately we have not had the repair done since we don't have the money to pay for it. Next and biggest issue off all is that while driving down our street I heard a noise that concerned me. When I got home there was a tapping under the hood, the tapping has been continuous since then. The original mileage at that time was 85,625 miles. After multiple trips to several different mechanics it has been diagnosed as a tapping lifter. Well this is a very very expensive repair. So easiest thing for us to do is to trade in our car....not the case. Our car now has no trade-in value because of the lifter issue. I am beside myself and I firmly believe that these are all issues that Chrysler should address under warranty. The maintenance on our vehicle is done on a regular basis to avoid issues like this. I feel quite cheated by Chrysler and wish I could request a refund for all of the repairs we have had to do while owning this vehicle.

After starting the vehicle and engaging the transmission into reverse the vehicle engine failed. I then turned off the ignition and returned the vehicle to the park position. At this point I decided to try it again, only this time without the ac and stereo on. The vehicle started right up just fine and I let it idle for about 1-1.5 minutes to let the idle stabilize. (it was not real stable). I then put the transmission back into reverse and backed up maybe 2 ft and the engine failed again.(now I am in the road) I repeated my second attempt and let it idle 2-3 minutes, put it into reverse and it was shaky but stayed running and it drove fine after for several days. About a week later my wife told me that this problem had happen to her 2-3 times over a couple days time. I have had it happen 2 additional times and today I was having to put the vehicle into neutral when stopped or idling to keep the engine running for a short 20 mile drive home from work. I have read many forums as we consumers seem to be doing much more of, and this is not a new problem. It needs to be fixed. Budget cuts, sequestration and furloughs are making things very tight for a lot of us out here and we depend on good quality transportation to get to the jobs we thankfully still have so that we can do our part to contribute the economic recovery of this great nation. Do the right thing Chrysler!

The vehicle was purchased June 11, 2013 and had the rear passenger tire replaced due to unfix-able flat tire. The dealer had me take vehicle to peerless tires co. The tire was replaced with wrong size and different brand of tire. Traveling during thunderstorm approximately 3,5 weeks after purchasing vehicle; the computer appeared to lock when vehicle slipped on pavement as AWD attempted to engage causing loss of steering and power then skidded off the road. I made claim through my insurance and had vehicle inspected by local shop, and I had my mechanic look to see if damage to vehicle was noticeable was not handling correctly after accident. When accelerates or decelerates the vehicle will lunge forward. Took vehicle to peerless tire co. After mechanic pointed out the wrong size and model of tire on rear passenger side of vehicle. After accepting fault wanted to take vehicle to [xxx] paint and body to pay for the repairs. When the estimate was being done and vehicle was on lift...[xxx] and mechanic pointed out the whole motor carriage had completely rusted out and corroded. They had not seen anything like it. Took vehicle back to dealer and explained this issue. Had to go ahead with insurance claim and wait for adjustors to determine fault of accident.the vehicle is totally unsafe to drive, feels like the engine is tipping forward when accelerating or decelerating. After researching this issue im shocked and appalled that 2 previous model years have same issues which are not being addressed for the 2006. I don't want this vehicle repaired I want out from under it, since it was sold unsafe and is a recurring problem even after having motor mounts replaced and undercarriage treated or replaced. I expect more from mopar period. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

During a routine inspection and oil change an automotive technician identified that the engine cradle (aka sub-frame) was severely corroded. The vehicle was examined by two other auto technicians and both confirmed that the engine cradle is corroded and that the vehicle is unsafe to operate. The vehicle is considered a safety hazard to both its passengers and other vehicles operating in the vicinity. The vehicle is considered to have zero resale value unless this is repaired. Parts for this vehicle have been ordered and repair is schedule to occur within 10 days. Estimated cost for repair is $4,000. A review of the NHTSA database for this model year vehicle indicates 6 complaints of an identical nature filed within the last 12 months. Similar searches of other websites confirm that this is an evolving problem. Pacifica models years 2004 and 2005 have well documented issues relative to corroded engine cradles and both model years have been recalled as a result. It is highly probable that the frequency of reported corroded engine cradles will increase as these vehicles age. A serious accident or injury may be the outcome in situations where this problem remains unchecked. This issue warrants additional investigation as it is becoming apparent that the problem encountered in the 2004 and 2005 models years is also surfacing in the 2006 model year.

My car started to jerk forward when I would accelerate from a complete stop. I also had to press hard on gas pedal because it would stick a little. Finally took car in and it was a broken motor mount. Not even 6 months later my car started to make a grinding noise and seemed to stick a little when I would accelerate. I took car back to shop and it is another broken motor mount. After speaking with the mechanic I learned that this is a very common problem in the Pacifica, so much so that the motor mount I needed was on backorder for 3 weeks.

My husband was on the hwy doing 55 when my car just went whew and lost all power, we had it towed to the garage where they told us the motor had a crack on both sides of it. The mechanic said he had never seen anything like it and had no idea what would have caused it. The car had just had an oil change the week before and had the required amount of oil, antifreeze in it. Did this happen because of a possible defect?

Chrysler has a 10 year 150K mile warranty on 2004 and 2005 for engine cradle rusting out. They refuse to explain why the '04 and '05 have extended warranty but the 06 is not, other than it is past 3 year mileage warranty.
