Town & Country Wagon Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission

The transmission shouldn't start slipping at 115,000 miles on a nice van like this. It should have lasted longer than this.

Have continually had problems with Chrysler transmission. Thought they had fixed by 2003 but no..... Have had several friends with the same problem. Other general problems as well with this model. My last Chrysler--please hurry into Chapter 7.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCT AGAIN!!>>Had a false check engine light. Diagnosed as transmission temp sensor reading at 1000 F. Covered under my purchased extended warranty $100 deductible. Valve body replaced on Monday December 18th, 2006. Check engine light magically returned on the way home from the dealership. On Thursday December 21, 2006 (64) miles after the repair, merging off of the interstate. Had a severe shudder accelerating from a stop light. Shift from 1st to 2nd gear was nonexistent, coasted into a service station drive. Attempted to put van in Neutral to push it out of traffic. It acted like it was in park, would not budge.. Finally jogged transmission into drive LOW. Was able to drive van to dealership that did the work (about 2 miles away). TOTAL CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE. Was told that it could be 2 weeks to a month before I could get a rebuilt transmission core on Friday 12-22-06. There is a national back order of 14 transmission units. Called Chrysler Customer service. Explained the situation. They asked me what I wanted Daimler Chrysler to do for me. I requested rental reimbursement. They denied the request. I was very pissed off at the call center rep who repeated her script of understanding my inconvenience. They indicated that they would need to terminate the call because they could no longer help me. I said that they needed TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND RECONSIDER MY RENTAL REQUEST. By the way the van was in @ 31,200 miles for a factory recall on the transmission for a new valve body. Other problems with this van were new blower motor, A/C compressor recall, Power steering hose and pump rebuilt.
