I took my car in for a recall on an ignition win module recall. The car was given back to me with several electrical issues and is now very unsafe to drive. Dealer replaced the part 4X now says its my issue!! my car was working properly when it was given to the dealer and was not returned to me in the same condition. The dealer experienced and witnessed this issue and says they cant find anything wrong with it. The only way they will help me is if I pay. My car will randomly light up the dash like I just turned it on, wipers go on by themselves, I have no dials on the dash they all bottom out to zero so I have no idea how fast im going, my turn signals and head lights go on and off, even in the dark! my car doesnt register in park so my doors wont open. After I take the key out it will light up as if key is in it and its not. Not safe for driving but I have no other options at this point! attached is a link to show a video of just a small bit of the issues with my van since part replacement. At first, passenger hid low beam headlight was not working. Swapped out light and module, still didn't work. Switched with working driver headlight assembly, did not work. Took into dealer and received a quote of over $1100 to replace tipm. Thought it was a ridiculous cost to fix a headlight. Removed connector and put back on the tipm and headlights worked fine for several days. Driving the vehicle shortly after, both headlights just shut off while driving on an unlight road. Quickly turn fog lamps on to see the road. Tried removing and reinstalling connector several times with always same result, both headlights work a couple of times, then both either don't come on or shut off after on. Running lights sometimes turn off as well. Drive the vehicle only in day time now.

While driving I had all computer screens shut down on me, meaning going blank. My radio turned off, the dvd player shut off, as well as my driver panel lights. This is the first time it has shut off on me, usually when I turn on the van either those functions work or they don't work. I also have issues with the tps, ABS, lights flashing at me including the engine light. It randomally will come on and randomally go off. Chysler told me for $3,000-$4,000 I can have the van rewired and have no van for about a month. I can not and will not afford this. I have summited other complaints about this van including the module recall. I don't know what to do this van is a safety hazard and a money pit.

My wife went to the car to unlock it the horn began blaring, locks going up and down, lights flashing, wiper fluid spraying everywhere, and the car actually started up w/O the key in the ignition and we do not have a remote starter on the vehicle. I arrived and removed the battery cable and it all stopped. After a few minutes I replaced the cable and was able to start the vehicle without incident. I was driving it home at approximately 65 mph and the vehicle suddenly started doing the same thing but the car cut off and I lost all steering and braking ability but was able to coast to the side parkway I was on. I removed the cable and replaced it and drove home without incident took the key out but the van would not shut off. One night of the issue we were awakened by the vehicles horn and when I went outside it was doing the same thing and the car was running in the driveway. She refuses to drive it and now we are stuck with a useless vehicle sitting in the driveway.. fed up with this situation there needs to be someone held accountable, dealership was no help at all!! " they say the don't know what the problem is how can that be !"????" seeing that there are thousands of van owners like me with the same problem!!!!!

The van passenger side door keeps opening and closing all by itself. The lights flash, then it unlocks itself and opens and closes over and over. The key fob will not do anything except open the passenger door, it doesn't matter what button you push. The door just keeps doing it and it can go on for up to an hour. We now have to disconnect the battery when we go somewhere otherwise we come back to an unlocked vehicle and an open door. The flasher also go off when this happens, it does it randomly so you never know what to expect. I have talked to some friends who are having the same problems. I think it is some kind of defect that the company should take care of.

While driving our van's horn began to go on and off by itself, the wiper blades began to run, and worst of all the dash was blinking on and off. This was a scary situation to be in on the road with my kids. It was very hard to concentrate and frustrating with no answers given.

Follow up to NHTSA id # 10648758 where we thought replacing the headlight control switch would stop the headlights from turning off while in use. Took only 3 days to discover that was not the route cause of the problem as the headlights went out again. No warning. They just went off. Back to the dealer where they now say it the tipm. No parts available to fix the problem for at least a month. Not a safe car to drive.

While driving at night the left headlight flickered then both headlights went out. They stayed out long enough for me to alert my daughter, who was riding in the backseat to witness the blindness we were driving in. Seemed like minutes, but am sure it was probably only 30 seconds or so (either way a true hazard when driving at night). As this was the second time in about a month this happened we had researched the issue and learned that if you turn the switch on and off multiple times the lights will eventually come back on. While it worked this is beyond distracting and quite the feat of driving as one tries to stay on a road they can no longer see and hope they do not crash or get hit by other cars. Took it to the dealer where they confirmed it was in fact the headlight switch assembly (complete failure when they tested it). Part ordered. Part was replaced and so far so goo (been less than a week). We did learn of issues with this part on prior year models. The fix of adding more lubricant to the switch is temporary and does not completely fix the lights going out. This is a safety issue and Chrysler needs to address it. While we got a minor discount on the service it is still a known defect.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated after the vehicle was serviced under an unknown manufacturer's recall, the turn signal, lights and radio failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. However, the failure was not diagnosed nor was the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,992. Updated 11/24/14 the consumer stated the ignition had to be turned to the left slightly in order to engage the radio, lights, and turn signals since the washer was installed as a fix. The washer began to come out of the ignition. Updated 10/5/2015

Purchased a used 2008 Chrysler T&C. drove have had intermittent electrical issues in the past year (approx. 12 times) different electrical items would malfunction. Radio would not turn up or down but come on at a loud volume and stay there. Cabin lights would not work then work than not. Brought it to the dealership where they could not tell us what was wrong. Clock was not working for a while. Middle of the night the alarm, lights, and doors would open randomly. Returned to the vehicle with door open when no one had been in the rear of the vehicle. Brought it to an electrical specialist who could not diagnose. Replaced the battery and tested the alternator. Was not either as the problems persist. Replaced the 6 mos. Old battery on Thursday and it was dead by Sunday. Brought it to the garage but no one can tell us why currently we have no horn or steering wheel controls as well as all cabin lights are out.

I just left my work related training class around 4:45pm and it was raining on that day. I noticed that I turned on my wipers, the front light and I immediately noticed that my wiper, the front light, signal light, heater and air condition stopped working suddenly. I tried to adjust my wiper speed but could not do any thing, to even turn it off was not possible. My signal failed to work, my horn also failed. I parked to see what might be the problem but could not electronically unlock the doors, also I noticed that when I turn the ignition key to on position, the dash light on the board was off, wiper is moving without been turned on and the light was not on after I started the vehicle. This is a potential danger and this has happened seven to ten times and these only happened when it was raining or during cold weather.

Two years ago, while driving at night, horn, wipers, wiper fluid and lights began going off and on by themselves. Stopped the car and turned off the car, but it kept on going on. I was in the car with my 5 children and my husband was not with us. It totally freaked out my children and me. My husband came and disconnected the battery and it stopped. On the way home it had stopped. Call our Chrysler dealership in the morning, but they had no idea what we were talking about and said to bring it in. Not being under warranty (68,000 miles) we decided to do our own research (husband works on cars on a regular basis). We only found that others in this situation were not having any luck at dealership. We have learned how to deal with this for 2 years now. We have taken out the fuse for the horn and wipers (as both will not turn off anymore) and insert wipers when raining. We don't feel safe with this situation, but not able to do anything else. Happens often without pattern. Waiting for a recall since this seems to be a huge problem with Chrysler. Very disappointed in the product.

Vehicle is having electrical problems. These electrical problems are causing the vehicle to shut off while operating, lights to turn on and off, horn to sound and windshield wipers and washers to operate randomly. This vehicle was purchased new from the dealer and had a similar problem when new.it was repaired and now is doing it again only more severely. There are many reports of similar problems with this vehicle experiencing this problem. In some cases the cruise control starts operating on its own and accelerating. This needs to be a recall.

We were exiting a parking lot and pulling out onto a main road when the horn started honking, the windshield wipers started full speed (both front and back with constant wiper fluid), the interior lights flashed, all the interior warning lights were on, and the headlights shut off. We pulled into the next parking lot & turned the van off, but the horn kept going off for at least 5 minutes along with the wiper, lights, etc. We started it up again with the same results. We were so thankful we were not on the highway yet as we could easily have been killed! we left the van in a nearby parking lot for the night and tried to take it to a dealership the next morning, but they didn't have any open appts till later this week. I'm not sure I could ever feel safe driving this vehicle again as I've read a lot of the same complaints about this make/model/year and it seems like it keeps happening without warning. This is very dangerous & I don't feel safe driving my children around in it!

This is the same issue that a lot of other people are having with the windshield wipers and fluid spraying and going off, horn honking and locks going all crazy. About a year ago this happened and I took my car in and was told it was the clock spring, then a week later same thing happened- happened first while I was driving and it went crazy, then also when I use the key faub to unlock the car it acted up. The second time I took it in they told me my battery was bad, but if I had it in a week before that why is that bad now when they should have noticed then? so put in around $700 to fix this issue. Now yesterday, exactly a year later, same thing happened. Driving on my way to work, it did it for about 5 minutes, I pulled over and shut my car off and restarted it. Then when I left work I pushed my unlock on my key faub and did it for a minute or so, then when I got home and went down to my car to leave last night, used key faub and it started going again, but this time would not stop so the battery is disconnected. I try to hook the battery up and it continues on still. This is dangerous for someone to drive and should be recalled immediately, also, my car would not shift and my ABS light and traction control light turned on this time, and last year it did not. My car is possessed!! I commute to work and this is a very dangerous issue and these cars need to be recalled asap!

The following has been happening for over a week now. When starting my vehicle, the wipers independently turned on, the headlights flashed every time the wipers where deployed independently. The wiper and light on/off was checked. Turned off and on, and still both items flashed, and swiped by themselves. January 29th, operator was driving 25 mph, all dash lights blinked, including but not limited to, esp, brake, engine, and airbag lights, airbag light remained on, wipers deployed and RPM gauge reduced to 0 for 5 seconds. Pulled over turned ignition off, opened door, shut door restarted vehicle. The above repeated itself, with more errors, now the driver window controls did no longer work. This happened repeatedly for 5 full minutes before resuming normal operation.

While driving 55 mph down a rural road at night the headlights went out. Nearly went off the roadway attempting to stop. After a few minutes one headlight came back on then went out again. After shutting off the engine and re-starting the vehicle the headlights came back on. This vehicle is not safe to drive at night.
