This car shuts down of being driven about two hours. It shuts down at the end of a trip as I come into town and take my foot off of the gas. The dealership has test drove the car multiple times and they cannot find what the problem is. It is now apparent this is a much larger problem.

Twice my vehicle shut off while driving on a city road at approximately 35 mph. There were no dash warnings other than the electronic stability control icon was lit the first episode. The radio was working, all other dash lighting appeared normal for a car in operation. I had been driving about 20 minutes, so the car was not "cold". the first time, I did not even realize the car had stalled until I noticed it was losing speed and then found the car was not responding to the gas pedal. I coasted into the right lane and turned onto a side street (that's when I realized I had no power steering, no brakes, and the car was truly stalled). I continued coasting to a stop. I then put the car in park and attempted to restart it. It restarted immediately, running smoothly, so I continued on my way home wondering what could have caused it to die like that? less than a mile later, it stalled again! this time I put the car in neutral and while cruising/coasting turned the ignition key to start to try and re-start the car. I then put the transmission back into drive to see if it had restarted, and sure enough I was on my way again. No other indicators of an issue on the dash. It has not happened since. I went out on an errand later that evening and the episode did not repeat. I am quite nervous to take it on the interstate. My gosh! what if I had been on the interstate (75 mph speed limit) turning a curve, no power steering, slowing to a coast and panicked as to what was wrong? I have an appointment with a mechanic day after tomorrow, but unless a code was thrown indicating an error, it seems to be a somewhat isolated event, or at least intermittent event. Definitely seems to be a safety issue.

Noticed an unusual sound coming from lr. Exited vehicle and immediately smelled burning brake pads. Lr wheel too hot to touch. Drove vehicle remaining 1/2 mile home. After only five minutes of internet research I had literally thousands of complaints on this same issue, mostly 2008 to 2012 models. My vehicle has less than 38000 miles on it and more than 50% of those are highway miles. Seems like the sheer volume of complaints would warrant a recall or at the very least a NHTSA investigation. I will certainly tell everyone I know to stay away from Chrysler products altogether.

Shortly after a brand new 2010 Town & Country I started to get shaking in the steering. The shaking would start when I tried to apply the brakes. I took it to the dealer and they said it was normal for minivans and that I must be driving on hills. They said the brakes would need to be resurfaced. They didn't offer to do that at that time and said it was my problem. After a few more months and the problem continually getting worse, I couldn't take it anymore and was ready to pay for new brakes. The dealership provided some sort of warranty and I had to pay a deductible. That solved the problem for a time. After about a year, I started getting some shaking on my tires. I took it to the dealership and they said the brakes were wearing down and that they would need to be replaced soon. I was surprised because the car was less than 2 years old and only had about 20K in mileage. I didn't get any repair at that time. Now it's been about another 6 months and my brakes are completely shot. The rotors have been worn down and need to be replaced along with the pads. This will be the second set in just over 2 years and the car has around 40K in miles. I'm going to pay for this repair and file a claim with Chrysler. This doesn't seem normal and it looks like they have some issues with their brakes.

There has been a problem with my front and rear brakes since I purchased this vehicle, I have now been to the dealer service four time to have this issued fix. Still not fixed!!! when I go to brake, the whole vehicle shutters, brakes grind and squeak horribly!! I have skidder several times trying to come to a complete stop!! this is a serious safety risk, especially since I am transporting small children let alone adults. Something needs to be done!!!!!

Left rear brake howling. It has gotten worse to now where the ld bake caliper and rotor must be replaced. The right rear is likely not working as the rotor is rusty. The front brake pads are 1/2 or more worn out. The car has only 9400 miles on it. Chrysler says the 36 month warranty has expired and I am now totally responsible. Less than 10,000 miles and the brakes are shot!.

We purchased the vehicle September 2010. Within first year September 2011 the rotors needed be replaced due to warping. In 2012 within a year of replacement, one set was replace and the other was machined due to warping. June 2013, had to have both sets of rotors replaced again due to warping. The rotors have worn out before the brake pads. The reason we were given was due to excessive heat. I live in southern California where the temperature is not excessive. There is no explanation for the warping or what is causing the excessive heat. This is a safety hazard because the braking system become compromised when the rotors get hot, the car starts to shake every time you apply the brakes. Chryslers is not addressing this issue. Online, there are numerous complaints of this exact same issue. How can the rotors continue to go bad when the brake pads are still in good condition and all within 10K miles.

Brake rotors and pads fail prematurely on 2010 Chrysler Town and country. The van currently has 51,000 miles and is on it third set of rotors and pads---this van should be recalled before someone is injured or killed due to brake failure. Too many complaints already filed for this not to be an recall issue.

My van did not experience a crash. However, the rear rotors and brake pads had to be replaced. This is the first car that I have owned that needed brake replacement under 50,000 miles. Please note my mechanic and the service advisor at the Chrysler dealership where I leased the van both stated the T & C brake system is a significant and frequent problem.

Im in a repair shop replacing all 4 rotors and all four pads for my Town and country brakes. After reading lemon law sides, this is a major problem with these vehicles. Many times, the brakes and rotors are having to be replaced every 10-20 thousand miles. Shame on Chrysler for sticking families with poor and unsafe brakes that must be replaced so often.

The vehicle had a complete loss of power. This has had on multiple occasions. I cannot steer or brake or do anything. I cannot start it from neutral. I have to put it in park turn it off and restart it. It has happened while going down the highway and pulling out into intersections. I'm really afraid it's going to cause an accident. This starting happening after my the key fob recall work was completed. This is a major safety hazard.

The parking brake pull off spring on the right rear wheel snapped in half. This caused the parking brake to remain engaged even after it was disengaged by the driver from the driver's seat. The right rear brake assembly (caliper, rotor, disc pads) overheated. Driver noticed loud clicking noise coming from right rear wheel after completing short trip. The noise apparently was from the expansion/contraction of the very hot metal dust cover around the brake assembly. Spouse found broken spring hanging from right rear parking brake assembly and installed temporary spring until new part came in the next day. Mopar part# 68039257aa (spring-parking brake). Spouse ordered second new spring figuring same thing might happen to left rear brake. On backorder. Chrysler Town & Country limited with 4.0L V-6 and towing package. Owner still has old spring in possession.

Burning rubber smell around the rear brake area. Took it in to the dealer immediately and they determined 2 problems. The caliper D's were bad which was covered under warranty and the brakes were bad and had to be replaced. This is approximately our tenth Chrysler van we have leased and never have we had to replace the brakes.

The vehicle appears to be stalling while in motion. The steering wheel, brakes, and gas pedal all lock up leaving the driver unable to control the vehicle in any way. This has happened on at least 10 occasions. The local Chrysler dealership attempted to fix the vehicle, but was unable. Corporate was notified and sent out a corporate mechanic who was also unable to fix the vehicle. The vehicle has locked three additional times (since the last attempted repair) and both the dealership (who is now refusing to service the vehicle) and corporate (who have not returned calls or emails) have been notified. After conducting an internet search I see that this is not an isolated issue--it has been reported multiple times to the NHTSA as well as on other websites. This is a dangerous and defective vehicle. Chrysler has been notified of this defect on multiple occasions and is not doing enough to protect the safety of its consumers.

Van purchased brand new in February 2011. Have had brakes replaced once under Chrysler brake recall/repair program. Replaced initially at approx 16000 miles.
